I agree, there is a body type that dominates porn and a body type that dominates high fashion and that neither sister is appropriate for high fashion. But I disagree to say someone looks good in porn is a compliment, but regardless of whether it is interpreted as a compliment or not, I do not think it is appropriate to say to anyone. Just because someones appearance fits a stereotype doesn't mean anything.

I don't take back what I said, but I recognise that I do approach this in the context that my ex-boyfriend would say this to me as if it were a compliment/teasing, but it made me feel degraded and I think for him, seeing me this way justified some of his treatment of me. It was just a really bad relationship and an awful experience for me, but it has also hardened me which will probably be a good thing. Hope this didn't turn into an overshare!

Well I'm very sorry that you took my off handed comment to mean something that I never intended it to. I don't see it as degrading at all since, having worked in the sex industry, I think it's a very empowering this for women to do. I don't think at all that doing porn (or in this case looking like you do) is a bad thing. Hell, I half meant it as a compliment. Like I'd totally watch Bella in some spicy lesbian action, but do I want to see her on the runway? Hell no.

I get what you're saying, I still don't think it's an insult or anything. There are obviously different categories but usually pornstar have big boobs & relative slim bodies, that's the ideal for a lot of women.I don't think anyone was saying that Bella and Gigi are pornstars or should pursue that career. It's like when you see a tall, thin girl and say 'she has a model body'

This is pretty much exactly what I was saying.

Thanks for taking the time to go into detail, 12 months ago and that comment wouldn't have made me stop and think. I don't believe working in porn should be perceived as degrading, but certain individuals perpetuate this idea and it can affect how women who are perceived as having a body suitable for porn are treated and how sex workers are treated. I didn't recognise you, because your dp has changed, but if I had I never would have jumped to the worst conclusion! After you replied, I remembered reading your thread you posted here about your work, so I felt like a very silly chook! :flower:

Hey girl, it's all good <3 I love taking the opportunity to educate others about the sex industry since it's always seen in such a bad light. Thank you for the thoughtful response, it is very much appreciated :luvluv:

Can someone please explain the genius behind her Tommy Hilfiger line? Are their sales that low? She's no Kate Moss or Cindy Crawford, why would a regular person buy a top with Gigi written all over it or a jacket that says Hadid? She might be popular but she's definitely not an icon, it makes no sense at all

I can't see anyone buying this garbage. It's just so trashy and self congratulatory.

What superb model posture. She must have learned these moves through years of honing her craft on her way to a Vogue cover.

I wasn't surprised, I totally expected her to get a Vogue US cover...August is like a filler month anyway, it's even more insulting that Kendall (apparently) got the September Issue. Like wow.
Someone like Gisele or Karlie Kloss would've looked a lot better, if they wanted a fit/strong looking model

Also insulting is to pair a gold medalist next to Gigi fucking Hadid. It's the ultimate irony - one person with world class talent, and the other with absolutely none to speak of.

You are right that a fit/strong model would be the least they could've done, if they wanted to do a professional athlete any justice.
