I hadn't heard much of her before finding this thread, thanks girls! Such an inspiration, I've been reading about her now and I'm totally envious of her looks and career. I agree, some her outfit choices are not in my taste, though. Makes me consider law school once again, sigh.

Agreed. I adore seeing women like this who aren't models or actresses, makes it feel much more attainable! But her most recent weight loss seems to be since her wedding; maybe even before but she was photographed less then.

I have always had a soft spot for George and Amal seems like such an intelligent woman (I've seen some of the cases she's had.. Christ!) and she's very chic and sophisticated. I'd like to be a fly on their wall for one day. I really like them as a couple and I wish them all the best.

I swear every picture where she has sunglasses on it looks like she attached a fake rubber nose to them!

on point once again,

I'm not sure if anyone agrees with me, but I actually don't like her legs in these pictures. We have a word in my langouage to describe this, is something like "flesh ripped apart from her bones". I'm a big fan of her figure, but I prefer to see less muscle on skinny legs.

Muscles ? Imho, her legs look untoned, she went from natural slim legs to super skinny legs probably due to starvation, or restriction. Or whatever the Clooney-diet is about.

I'm not saying she is toned, but she needs and has some muscle just to be able to stand and walk. And because she did something wrong with her weight loss, now we are able to see her "anatomy" in an unpleasent way.
You probably expressed it better than myself.
:naughty:

I think in part this is due to age. It probably happened naturally and is hard to change without weight gain? I think her arms sort of look the same way too. I thought this was due to muscle and bone separating with not much fat on the limbs.

I agree. Weight loss as you age looks like this.

Do you mean:
1) those that lose weight when young and maintain it as they age won't look like this OR
2) this is what skinnies look like this when they get older?

Now I am scared.
I'm not sure if this is what @FrançoiseEllyn meant, but from what I've seen around, being very-very skinny in your forties and older is not a good look.
But being thin is a must. Long story short, I think I will be OK with "thin" when I'm older.

Later edit: I'm such a dummy, I was thinking of Queen Letizia instead of Amal.
In Amal's case, she seems to have been losing weight constantly since she's with George, but as she is around 35 (?) her skin and muscles aren't really able to adapt accordingly. I'm thinking of lack of elasticity of the skin, especially.

Thank you for your fast reply.
I find it interesting to compare people. Remember when Jared Leto gained 30kg then lost it quickly? He was 36 and didn't look any different or haggard.
Gosh I will be even more careful about what I put in my mouth.

@MickeyMouse I'm on my lunch break (I promise it was a light lunch and now I'm having my coffee!), so here comes another fast reply :D.
I'm sure you know your body.
For instance, I know my skin is not very elastic (because I have strech marks all over despite not dropping weight very quickly) and that I gain muscle mass slow and lose it fast. In a nutshell, big problems with tonus. :(
I try to plan my older age look according to this coordinates. I just hope menopause won't interfere too much with my plans.
Don't be scared, just be prepared! :inluv:
