Controversial Fashion Editorials

I know the thread title says 'editorials' but there is no section for ad campaigns :p

it doesn't have to be deleted. it's a significant piece of fashion history and highly relevant to the topic.

I think that was kind of a missunderstanding.
As I already said, I (and I believe other members, too) was not upset because this picture was posted, but simply because it exists.

At least we all know that this picture is really contoversal;)

I wonder if people could also post the reasons behind the controversy? I guess I'm hard to shock cos I don't get all of them.

I thought this photo shoot was quite disturbing and yet I couldn't stop watching.

It was released on 9/11's 5th anniversary.

Here's the whole editorial:

I think that victims and families of 9/11 victims would reasonably become offended by such a photoshoot... Like "why are they trying to make this horrible tragedy that destroyed so many lives into some type of fashion editorial?" I understand. The editorial is in no way meant to pay respect or commemorate... It's really just someone's nightmare turned into high fashion...

Yeah I think it's pretty uncool that it was released on 9/11. It's a pretty shoot, they could of released it ANY other time of year.

How would the victims* find this offensive? It had nothing to do with the victims* themselves..... The editorial spoke to "suspenseful travelers" (or in its case, suspenseful skinny gorgeous models :sneaky:).

This editorial was just a twisted representation of how the federal government had handled the attack, when they dramatically increased Airport security. Many people including Americans found the new security procedures a bit ridiculous. I am not saying that the new regulations were wrong but a lot of people found them unnecessary or at least inconvenient.

Not to mention that on the aftermath of 9/11, there were a lot of people who were wrongly accused, abused and/or killed. That's why I loved that editorial and its mere hyperbole was quiet smart and refreshing!

I hate that I am including the victims in this response, as if they are such a trivial matter because they are not. But I just wanted clarify my point.

I think I just feel the same! Some pictures are clear, but others... so what about the last one or the one with Julia Roberts? Could anyone tell me what I've missed?

EDIT: Okay, I have just read the notes below the pictures! Thank you very much!
