Czech model Katerina was found deceased in the bathtub within her flat - she had a history of self-harm and depression. Her boyfriend was away at the time for hockey, and her two dogs were also found dead. What a tragedy.
A mystery is unfolding in the Czech Republic, where a model and her two pet dogs were found dead inside her apartment. Local authorities are trying to piece together how Katerina Netolicka — a flawless 26-year-old cover girl for Prada, L’Oreal and Elle — went from celebrating her birthday just 11 days ago to being found lifeless in a bathtub at her home in Litvinov.
The brunette beauty had been living with her boyfriend, Jakub Petruzalek, and was found by her brother after he became worried when she hadn’t been answering his phone calls, Central European Newsreports.
Petruzalek is a 29-year-old professional hockey player with the international Kontinental Hockey League. He had been dating Netolicka for five years and was out of the country playing a game in Russia when the model’s body was discovered, according to CEN.
When Netolicka’s brother knocked and got no answer after arriving at her home, he broke the door down and found his sister and her two dogs dead inside. “The cause of death is at this moment unknown and we have requested an autopsy,” said police spokeswoman Lumila Svetlakova.
Along with modeling, Netolicka was an avid kickboxer who won the Czech Championships last month, CEN reports. A model who worked with Netolicka in New York seven years ago described her as a person who acted very bipolar at times and someone who also suffered from depression.
“One minute she was very happy, almost ecstatic,” said the model, who wished to be anonymous. “Then sometimes she was depressed and used to self-harm.”
But a friend of the cover girl says Netolicka wasn’t hurting herself anymore and was in a good place mentally at the time of her death.
“I know she had stopped self-harming and was very happy with her boyfriend,” Adrian Smrcka told CEN. “Maybe she got a spasm after kickbox training, or maybe it was a stroke. I really don’t know what could have happened.”
