Out running..
Czech model Katerina was found deceased in the bathtub within her flat - she had a history of self-harm and depression. Her boyfriend was away at the time for hockey, and her two dogs were also found dead. What a tragedy. :(

A mystery is unfolding in the Czech Republic, where a model and her two pet dogs were found dead inside her apartment. Local authorities are trying to piece together how Katerina Netolicka — a flawless 26-year-old cover girl for Prada, L’Oreal and Elle — went from celebrating her birthday just 11 days ago to being found lifeless in a bathtub at her home in Litvinov.

The brunette beauty had been living with her boyfriend, Jakub Petruzalek, and was found by her brother after he became worried when she hadn’t been answering his phone calls, Central European Newsreports.
Petruzalek is a 29-year-old professional hockey player with the international Kontinental Hockey League. He had been dating Netolicka for five years and was out of the country playing a game in Russia when the model’s body was discovered, according to CEN.

When Netolicka’s brother knocked and got no answer after arriving at her home, he broke the door down and found his sister and her two dogs dead inside. “The cause of death is at this moment unknown and we have requested an autopsy,” said police spokeswoman Lumila Svetlakova.

Along with modeling, Netolicka was an avid kickboxer who won the Czech Championships last month, CEN reports. A model who worked with Netolicka in New York seven years ago described her as a person who acted very bipolar at times and someone who also suffered from depression.

“One minute she was very happy, almost ecstatic,” said the model, who wished to be anonymous. “Then sometimes she was depressed and used to self-harm.”

But a friend of the cover girl says Netolicka wasn’t hurting herself anymore and was in a good place mentally at the time of her death.

“I know she had stopped self-harming and was very happy with her boyfriend,” Adrian Smrcka told CEN. “Maybe she got a spasm after kickbox training, or maybe it was a stroke. I really don’t know what could have happened.”

How sad, but I don't understand why Katerina's dogs were also found dead. That makes no sense to me.

I was wondering the same thing? (The animal lover in me freaked out about the dogs) My first thought was that she's been dead for a couple days and its been unknown? And the dogs have just been neglected? But then again it would take quite sometime for them to die due to neglect.
Either way, sad sad story! May she Rest In Peace!

That is so incredibly sad.

I find it pretty disrespectful that someone she worked with 7 years ago felt they had a place to comment like that about her mental health in the context of her unexplained death.

The media has dug pretty deep too if they had to find someone with such a distant connection to make the comment they wanted to publish.

Mental health is such a serious issue, i do feel the media takes it much too lightly, splashing about comments like that as though they are diagnostic and involved in the current tragedy
Mental health issues may or may not have been implicit in the events that unfolded, but I don't think it is this colleagues - who hasn't known her for 7 years - place to conjecture...

Yes this is exactly what I wanted to say. Saying that someone 'acts bipolar' is incredibly ignorant, it's like saying they're 'a little bit OCD'.

I also find it a shame that people still think that because [you're a model/it was your birthday 11 days ago/you have a boyfriend/you aren't self-harming] then you can't be depressed. The despair can even be worse at those times when you think you ought to be happy because x/y/z but you're still in pain and you don't know why, but anyway, those things have absolutely no meaning at all if you're suicidal because you can't bear to go on living with constant misery.

In any case, no-one knows what happened to her. Perhaps her issues got too much; perhaps there was a gas leak. It's quite repulsive to speculate like this without knowing any of the facts, it must be appalling for those who cared about her.

In any case, I wish her loved ones peace.

The fact that her dogs were dead as well... has anyone considered a gas leak or something as a cause?

Really horrible. Especially as her character and everything will be totally skewed with "SKINNY PROB ANOREXIC model dies TRAGICALLY from her SKINNY ISSUES she was PROBLEMATIC".

So insulting to her and her memory.

I feel so bad for her boyfriend. Five years is a long time and starting over will be difficult.

It is very disrespectful, both of the person who made the anonymous statement, and the news reporters who are covering it. A persons death is tragic, especially when they're young, and speculating about what happened is just causing more hurt to the people in her life who are currently grieving.

I completely agree as well that it's disrespectful to say 7 years ago someone "acted bipolar" in regards to their passing.
My thoughts and prayers go out to her friends and family, such a sad story :(

I assume that they did check for a gas leak and would have found it. However I am very insulted and annoyed by the fact that they would automatically assume eating disorder. At times when people are depressed they neglect their responsibilities, so that is probably what happened to the dogs.
