A lot of young models burn twice as bright to burn out half as long. What I love about Abbey is that this rule didn't take to her. Even as a classically pretty faced nubile model, she oozed an enigmatic sensuality that was more fascinating than her prettiness alone. Her potential was only glimpsed during the peak years of most pretty faced couture models (as in teenage years to very early 20's). Abbey's maturation after that is what unfolded her beauty -- indulgent, exotic, androgyneous, Thin White Duke-esque -- in all its glory.

All of my gushing is partly from looking at this shoot for Vogue Russia by Richard Bush, which I think captures that idea:
