What have you bought recently?

I've done quite a bit of shopping lately, but my favourite piece has to be the Saint Laurent Loulou bag. It's literally the perfect size for an every day bag, and looks good with everything!

Loulou Medium Leather Shoulder Bag - Saint Laurent | Mytheresa

Did you opt for the largest size? Are you using it for work / to carry a laptop etc.?

Recent purchases for a few fun evenings coming up:

Everything I bought reminded me of Katerina Petrova when I put it together - now I’m extra excited for the mail to come:luv:

Does anyone have recommendations on where to buy a good pair of pumps, without breaking the bank ((for now))?

I really like M Gemi’s heels, especially the Esatto. It comes in a mid heel too, and they are identical quality, walkability, and lightness to Manolo BBs at half the price. I like that the shank (where your foot’s arch is) isn’t cut in half (see the below pics).

At the price point below M Gemi, I like the Steve Madden Vara, and think the thinness of the heel and general shape of the shoe looks nicer than its price point.

Caved (although it didn’t take much convincing, I’ve been wanting this dress for a while) and bought the Bandit Dress from Reformation. $278 later…

But seriously, it’s gorgeous. I can’t wait to wear it.
God I wish I hadn't seen this post, this dress is beautiful! And my birthday is coming up so I could maybe justify getting it for myself.... urgh.

I've gotten a few pairs of heels from here (including the shoes I wear the most to work). They've held up well so far and I like that they have a range of styles and colors so you can get something more casual OR a basic shoe.

I first thought it'd be a skinny stereotype to follow this, as I believe "ballet-core" and the ensuing worship of the Black-Swan movie have left many non-dancers to purchase the Yumiko Tamara leotard, but I did get it in black after long consideration and it is so so flattering, especially If you work out your back and shoulders!

Rick Owens Transparent Heel Platform Kiss Boots in Black | Lyst

Xmas gift to myself is these Rick Owens Kiss boots- they were so hard to find, especially since I buy pretty much everything secondhand/vintage for environmental reasons (and ethical reasons if it's leather) and I have small feet, so finding hyper-specific shoes that I actually like, are in good condition, and in my size can be impossible. I love how they have a glam rock era silhouette, i.e. there isn't much of a height difference between the platform and the heel- it makes them look masculine/rock & roll, whereas most women's platform boots look more bratz doll/influencer/girlboss lol

Have been on the search for the perfect leather pants and recently got these rick Owen leather leggings and I'm obsessed with them. I was eyeing the saint Laurent pants but somehow they were not as flattering as I had hoped, but these RO leggings make my legs look amazing. rick does so well for the skinnies. only issue is that it is lamb leather so quite delicate

I've bought two Bottega Veneta bags recently:
BV blue.jpeg

This blue one was purchased at a vintage bag shop and I managed to haggle the price down to around $230 USD. It had already been discounted a few times - I assume because of the bright colour. It's a bit scuffed here and there, but at $230, I can't complain. The leather feels divine, and super plush because it's already been broken in. The single braided strap is also quite comfortable to carry - thin straps bruise my shoulders sometimes because they're so boney, lmao.

This black one I bought off eBay from a reputable Japanese shop that sells secondhand designer bags for $366 USD. I justify this purchase by asserting that having one bright and one black bag will be great for matching with different outfits, and this black one is different enough to warrant the purchase because it has two straps instead of one 😂 I have also heard that BV is one of the only brands that's really worth buying because of their high quality leather and craftsmanship.

I've heard a lot about how brands like LV, Celine, Chanel, YSL etc are going down in quality despite going up in price. These BV bags are technically my first designer bag purchases, and I plan to exclusively buy secondhand or vintage going forward.
