Top Model (guilty thinspo pleasure!)

I have to admit that ANTM and all its spinoffs are so much fun for me! I guess it combines 'takedown' mentality (all the normal to plus girls are sooo boring) with a few really inspiring examples. I like seeing how much better the truly model-like girls look in their poses; it's like comparing swans to buffalos, sometimes :confused:

Right now I'm watching Top Model Sweden (... because I'm Swedish) but I'm not even up on the one that's running in the U.S. Any inspiring girls? I'm sad because the Swedish version doesn't have any really outstanding girls but this girl Alice is nice enough (the blonde - I couldn't find any great pictures). I do like that they've voted off all the pudgy girls by now... It feels at least a LITTLE more realistic than the U.S. version does.

There was a girl on Top Model Australia who was realllllly skinny... I wasn't even such a fan of her (she was very ungainly, and not in a cute 'broken doll' way!) Her name is also Alice (the redhead).

Have you ever been inspired by Top Model??

These are some candidates of the current ANTM season, i don't find them thinspiring at all!

Okay, seriously they're better than the ANTM All Star season people (the latest I've seen)
I remember the salad bowl photoshoot & some of them looked pretty bad.
I remember Angelea & how untoned her tummy car and how Nigel even mentioned it.
Maybe it's because they were all much above the average age of the girls normally in the competition (being from previous seasons).
But MOST girls (from all seasons) seem naturally thin and don't seem as if they do much for their body. They seem more 'normal' than model like :S
 
I watched two seasons of Russia's next top model, and girls there are definitely skinnier, model-type than the american series. Some of them were really special and unique!!

I have been really wanting to watch these! Do you watch them online? I can't seem to find links anywhere.
 
Alice Burdeu! She was amazing.

AusNTM is what I watch the most (being Aussie) but they've been going a little downhill (I heard they picked up last season). When Sarah Murdoch (the host) first started she had a huge agenda about 'real women' (ugh) and so the winner that year, Tahnee, was SO undeserving of it and a size ten. And short. And a little generic and boring too!

Yes, I've done a post on it, you can find the links in the "television" part of the forum I think. The problem though is that there is no translation, so you have to understand Russian to watch it.

That book sounds like the biggest piece of horse shit... I don't understand how she could possibly believe that publishing that book is a good step for her career. The plot sounds like a five year old's journal entry.

Agreed. Also the models are so boring now. There is nothing special about them and they have more "plus models" too
 
Tyra Banks is full of herself? You obviously don't know Heidi Klum XD!
 
I used to watch Germany's Next Topmodel, but I got so annoyed. It was just too fake when all the girls sat down and ate a HUGE plate of burger and fries, and coke, and then complained how full they were. I don't buy it!

I get that she wants to expand her career but..... I hope this book isn't for the adult section.

I also can´t stand to watch it anymore.
Most of the girls are so average-looking, others are just drama queens and attention-wh**** looking for a TV career afterwards.

Also, the show is too much about the drama and stuff going on behind the scenes, not about the real purpose of the show- finding a girl who has the talent and looks to become a model.
And I guess I don´t have to mention how ridiculous the so-called "challenges" are.
It´s just too obvious that GNTM isn´t about modelling and fashion, but entertainment.
