They look great, but most other women could not make those same clothes look as good as they do. My dad calls larger people or people with weird body shapes "clothes ruiners" for a reason. There are people that make clothes look good (like Kate and Rosie) and there are people that clothes just look like crap on (like Venus and Serena). I wouldn't call Venus and Serena reverse thinspo, though. I kind of exempt them completely since they are athletes and clearly worked VERY hard to get those bodies. It's not something that's even in the realm of possibility for any of us.http://skinnyvscurvy.com/kate-bosworth/thin-beauties-vanity-fairs-party-kate-rosie.html#more-42002
I LOVE these two. Why don't other people have as much taste?
Good point, Jane. I must say, I still think Serena's back and butt up close are pretty off-putting. I bet she weighs a bit less in the warmer months when she's competing. She really could have picked something that looked more flattering, that's for sure.I wouldn't call Venus and Serena reverse thinspo, though. I kind of exempt them completely since they are athletes and clearly worked VERY hard to get those bodies. It's not something that's even in the realm of possibility for any of us.
But Skinny2012, you know Gwyneth will always go for boring and sleek over exciting and adventurous!I really don't like Gwyneth Paltrow's dress...what is this around her shoulders??
...and the hair, so boring...I mean are you serious? This is the Oscars!
Okay, I get where you're coming from with the leg...being defiant and all...but I don't think she got the reaction she was hoping for. I think she was hoping for sexy. Every time she did that, I thought "desperate" over "provoking".She looked like a walking cadaver. She looks haggard and wrinkly. It's time to gain 5 pounds, Angie. She's too old now to get away with being this skinny without having it make her face look sunken. Maybe that's why she kept poking out her leg, to take the focus off that shiny sack she used to call her face. It's so sad, since that face is truly a work of art.
The way she did the posing was almost like a defiant joke, so I can't be mad at her for it. Her attitude was like "Oh, yeah? I'm boring on the red carpet?? Get a load of THIS!! Yeah, that's right. I know you'll eat it up. You're all my little toys that I like to play with. Don't provoke the dragon. I may have toned it down, but I'm still in here. Boom." But I'm gonna need her to fix that face.
