Everyone on The Fashion Spot has been ripping on how her makeover brands her a flash in the pan one season sensation, however I'm so into it. Pale eyes, sallow skin, red hair :luv: could probably afford to lose a bit still, but her look is so striking, I'm on board. Bring onnn the editorial work.

I like her look. It's kind of punky. It reminds me of Lisbeth Salander a bit actually.

I actually think an element of punk in a look is timeless in an odd way so I don't think she'll necessarily be a flash in the pan. And she has an interesting face so there's potential for her to be versatile as well.

I agree, She looked lovely with the blonde hair too so she's got versatility and can adapt, the punk chop has just given her a platform to get noticed in the first place, which I doubt she would have had she stuck to her original style.

Yes! I love her look, punk suits her well, she is like a fresh breeze. She looked nice with the long blonde hair but frankly, was quiet forgettable.

With the new look she looks a little like a punk version of Mia Farrow in Rosemary's baby. Which is definitely not a bad thing. I think the shorter hair really helps to bring out her facial features.

Lisbeth Salander yes, but the makeover seema to be a little desperate to me. She could not be interesting naturally so she had to so something dramatic to get attention. maybe this is not the case just how i see it.

Desperately successful perhaps? Haha. Yeah, she had the makeover to stand out because her current look wasn't getting her there.. and it worked!

In any job aren't you trying to stand out from other applicants? I wouldn't necessarily chop my hair off as it is completely irrelevant to my field but as someone currently looking for jobs, I do whatever I can to stand out. If i was a model and cutting my hair and dying it made me stand out I would do it in a heart beat - wouldn't say it's desperate, i'd say it's committed

I agree. I mean, I thought Sasha was nothing special and plain looking until she dropped lbs and went ice blond. Now she's a goddess.....and I hardly interpret that as "desperate." Katie made a smart move that shows she's dedicated and has a good team behind her to put together this look.

I don't know the details of Katie's situation but it's very likely her agency suggested it, based on the need they were seeing in the market. Seriously doubt she went out and did it on her own.

Most models are told to change something, some more than others. It's not "desperate", it's improving their marketability. Like it or not they are basically products and improving the packaging in some way almost always helps.

Yes, i guess they are. I think i am just more comfortable with the thought that they are in charge of their body. :)

Of course. You are right.

Not the type of model I'm inspired by but the makeover really made her striking. She's perfect for Saint Laurent

Beautiful as a blonde, but the makeover really kicked her career off. I doubt she is a "flash in the pan" girl, even when her hair grows back or is dyed back she will always be the girl that opened Wang, which people are not going to forget easily.

Yeah, I do commercial work and I'm not allowed to cut an inch of my hair without consulting the agency. Any physical changes = new comp cards which is time and $$$

They cut it at Wang.
