Here and there
Chinese beauty Hejia Li was first scouted at age 17 in her hometown of Wenzhou in China's southeast province of Zhejian. Although Hejia always loved the idea of the fashion industry, she was quite the athlete growing up skateboarding and playing basketball in her high school team. After Hejia made her first runway debut in China with Matthieu Blazy's Bottega Veneta a/w 23 Beijing show ,she stands out as the star of Spring Summer 2024 collections with an impeccable selection 27 shows globally including Proenza Schouler, Khaite, Michael Kors, Fendi, Gucci, Versace, Bottega Veneta, Saint Laurent, Givenchy, Louis Vuitton, Chanel and more.

She was such a standout this past season. I hope we continue seeing her on the runway :luvluv:

Happy to see her again on the runway, but I have to admit I'm a little disappointed to see her look softer all around. You can see it in her cheeks and arms, both of which don't look as sculpted as they did when she debuted. She's still very new to modeling, so hopefully she doesn't let herself go; otherwise, she'll just become a poor man's Liu Wen 🤷‍♀️

Emerging new favorite. Love her body and I really like the atmosphere of her face. There’s something understated and refined about it. And she has an eye good enough that even in her own presentation of herself she doesn’t have anything of tackiness. Forever have a soft spot for the beauty of a kind of stark pulled back almost sobriety.

There's a slouchy, athletic quality to her that translates interestingly on the runway. The soft angularity of her facial features balances it out and makes her a versatile model IMO.

I don’t know if it’s just me but does she look a little softer? And there’s some models for whom there’s more forgiveness but something about her face feels thrown off for me with even just a hint more puffiness. :nervous:

It's not just you; she has gradually gotten softer since her debut. The weight gain is very subtle, but it does throw off her face which is why I keep going back-and-forth with her. She already has soft facial features, so any hint of puffiness makes her look generic.

I do prefer her in print, probably because the lighting conditions allow her features to look more dimensional (post-production retouching is also at play). Runway photography + lighting conditions, however, are much less forgiving.
