BAD Vogue Covers

The image isn't that great, but IMO the worst part about the cover is the terribly amateur layout. It looks like someone made this on Microsoft Paint. And lime green, really?

And here goes my Vogue subscription. I'm officially done with this magazine, it's been going downhill for some time but THIS?? Considering how many models, designers and other fashion-related, mostly skinny people are in Vogue, screaming on the front page that "real women have curves" seems quite offensive to everyone pictured inside. Skinny-bashing from Vogue, if someone told me this five years ago, I'd have probably laughed at the very suggestion.

I first started collecting vogue in the early 90s, back when the waif models were popular & then the heroin chic look. After that ended I feel like vogue NEVER fully recovered b/c there was such an anti-model this and that backlash. I have an issue or 2 w/ the lovely Eastern Euro girls from 5 years or so ago, but Vogue (US primarily) DOES NOT really seem like a fashion mag in my mind anymore. Also, even though I haven't looked at it in a while, I got really fed up w/ all the Karlie layouts....blaaaah, an OD on any model gets boring after a while. I had renewed my subscription for free last year and then decided to cancel it and save the trees & stop using vogue as my makeshift table place mats, leveling a wobbly table, etc.

Were the fonts made in MS Word? I used to play with these font effects when I was in primary school.

ugh I could design a magazine that would easily surpass Vogue's "masterful" design if I had the money.
I get that people start running out of ideas, but can't you get different artists with different visions to fix that for you?

The inconsistencies in quality made me not renew my subscription. But the place mat idea is not a bad one for the old copies.

This is probably old news, but here we go...

I was at the grocery store one day and saw the horrid, horrid KU cover of vogue....what, why, how!?!?!?! Vogue (US) I gave up on you long ago....but now you are officially BOYCOTTED by me until you put actual High Fashion models back on your covers! Enough is enough. KU, are you joking?! Hottest SUPERMODEL? No f-ing way. They managed to insult the general public and actual supermodels by this cover at the same time...boooooo vogue!

A bigger Vogue is keyword for: shitload of ads.
No matter how "big" Vogue wants to get, it doesn't have control over the designers that adamantly disapprove by choosing skinny for their campaign photos.

At least that's what I remember... I haven't had a Vogue in my hands in years:cry:

It's like they decided to hire somebody's kid sister to do the cover instead of hiring an actual graphic/typhography designer... So awful.
