NYFW starts in less than a week, and castings have been taking place recently!

Who do you think will be the breakout stars of S/S 2013?
Which models will be everywhere?
Which designer collections are you most excited for?
Which designer collections are you dreading?

I'm hoping for way less newbies, or at least newbies that can walk ;) Hoping the runways for NY and London will have more star power, I was getting tired of the newbie overload last season :nervous:

I definitely think Elza Luijendijk will be the breakout star of S/S 13. We didn't really get to see her much during F/W 12 because of her Prada exclusive, so I hope to see her tearing up the runways in all 4 cities <3 Other relatively new girls that I think will do well: Kati Nescher, Xiao Wen Ju, Kolfinna Kristofersdottir, Melissa Tammerijn, Vanessa Axente, Ava Smith, Nadja Bender, Franzi Mueller. They'll mostly brunettes though, and this might be the season of the blondes since it's S/S and all :-/

Hoping AusNTM 7 winner Montana Cox will have another good season after doing well in Milan and Paris (she skipped New York and London) last season. She had visa problems, so she wasn't able to make it to some of the castings in NY, but I'm sure she'll pop up here and there in NY and then do well in the other 3 cities.

Newbies to look out for: Vanja Maria and Alejandra Infante. These 2 girls are rumored to be Givenchy exclusives.

Rose Cordero and Kirsi Pyrhonen are making comebacks this season, looking forward to seeing how well they'll do. I can't see Kirsi having the same success she had during S/S 12, considering all the hype around her has died down and her feet have not gotten any smaller. I hope Rose does really well though, she's one of my favorite ethnic models!! Hoping Freja and Snejana will make comebacks on the runway, now that Freja is back from her break and Snejana got 3 campaigns out of nowhere last season.

Daphne is skipping NYFW (if not more), I hope she has a terrible campaign season and fades away

The usual culprits will probably be at all the shows. Karlie, Aymeline, Frida, Kasia, Karmen, Natasha, etc. Can't wait to see how Karlie will do campaign-wise, now that she's walking a full season AND signed to IMG. If she can nab OG campaigns for Elie Saab, JPG, Stefanel, Americana Manhasset, and Juicy Couture after skipping 3 out of 4 cities, I bet she'll have an amazing season now that she's under better management and walking in all 4 cities :luv:

Excited to see collections from Alexander McQueen, Haider Ackermann, Elie Saab, Jason Wu, and Oscar de la Renta.

Apprehensive for Chanel and Marc Jacobs...I've never been a fan of Karl Lagerfeld, but his last few collections in particular have been less than stellar. Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton is so great, but his designs for his own line are just so terrible :( Definitely not looking forward to Dior...

Glad to see Karlie opening

i just saw the Jason Wu live stream ADORED EVERYTHING!!! I personally think leather is too heavy for ss (even though a lot of designers are incorporating them in their collections), Jason did a fantastic job and the color scheme was really beautiful, minus the coral pink imo. But all in all I loved how he combined leather with softer fabrics and the last dresses where amazing, I also though the finale was really good how they turned down the lights and then the models appeared again, he never disappoints :luv:

OMG I KNOW!!!! That was the one collection that stood out for me so far. Spring fashion with an edgy twist...I LOVED IT! So much potential in someone so young. I've only looked at the pictures on style.com though, I haven't watched the show yet.

Random @ Cora Emmanuel closing, but the casting was pretty awesome...Karlie, Frida, Aymeline, Elza, Ming, Josephine, etc. There are only a few I wouldn't have casted because they didn't pull off their looks well: QUERELLE (WAY TOO MANLY FOR HER OUTFIT), Erjona, Meaghan, Marie, and Carolyn.

Seriously, Querelle looks like a man in a dress.

We're here, o'course, but gotta be careful with the deets. ;) And we're reminding certain VIPs (ahem, user tags to come when I'm not on my phone) that they've been neglecting the forums!

 from my favorite part of NYC (by name anyway - any guesses?)

From Karlie's twitter this morning:
Good Morning #NYFW...I'm cheating on you today! Skipping all shows today and tomorrow for a great shoot instead, lucky me!

:( At least the only prestigious shows she missed were Alexander Wang, Prabal Gurung, Altuzarra, and Lacoste. Can't wait to see what she was shooting. Hoping for a prestigious cover/editorial

Oh please share what you can! Those of us so far removed (both physically and professionally) from the fashion industry need to live vicariously through your adventures.

There are only a few I wouldn't have casted because they didn't pull off their looks well: QUERELLE (WAY TOO MANLY FOR HER OUTFIT), Erjona, Meaghan, Marie, and Carolyn.

And can we say Erin Heatherton? I mean, first Candice for Chanel last season, now Erin in Jason Wu??? I mean, come on! I really hate it when Angels model high fashion. It just looks wrong on them:

I totally agree! She and Carolyn Murphy both looked really bad with their tans.

Kinda miffed that Erjona Ala is everywhere :( I really dislike her look in print and on runway. Elza isn't doing as well as I hoped either. I was expecting her to be at Donna Karan since their lineup usually features "girls of the moment". Hopefully she'll do better in Europe, I think her ice queen look would be better received there anyway.

And I love how the photos for Donna Karan are all LQ until Karlie's :sneaky:

And, like every season, I absolutely adored Carolina Herrera. Soft, dreamy, ethereal, feminine... Not surprising, but lovely nonetheless.

Great lineup at ODLR. Wasn't a fan of the collection, but it was nice seeing the established girls.
