Pyper America

Sorry to keep this thread off topic but in your experience, is BYU more Mormon or FLDS? A girl from my high school went there and it seems very strict.
TOTALLY different. FLDS has nothing to do with the church, nada. In no way are they related whatsoever. It's strict, it does have very high standards, but anyone who tries to follow any religion perfectly will have high standards as is.

I consider Mormonism to be like any other major religion--except Mormons actually practice what they preach. I can't say the same for most other "religious" people I have met (of course, I'm only speaking from my limited experiences).

Icelandic Fantasy shoot Pyper and her brother did:

I had never heard of them before, but I like this shoot... I'm a sucker for fantasy. :)

No polygamy or child rape or any of that culty shit involved.

I wasn't even referring to the polygamy or "child" rape. Maybe I'm a closed-minded bitch but if I was out at a club one night and met a guy who told me he has two rocks (with names) that talk to him when he puts them in his hat, I'd assume he was off his medication. But Mormons believe this is where their bible came from. A guy. Talking to rocks. In a hat. :wtf:

I get weird about this bc my little sister met a Mormon guy and was really into him for a while. Long story, but I learned a lot.

Oh the South Park Mormon episode is amazing. If you have a Hulu account watch it. But also I found free clips.

@Alpha Bullcock before I get yelled at for derailing, maybe this gets its own thread?

Yeah you can't really trust what pop culture says. I actually just started going back to church last month and I'm getting married in the temple. If You have questions feel free to ask! Don't rely too much off the internet though!

I was raised Mormon and my family is still Mormon to this day. Some are a little strange but nothing out of the ordinary, especially for anyone religious. @IcedAmericano has the basic idea down of the differences. Mormonism has never been a cult, but the one branch, FLDS, is certainly one. If anyone remembers the Warren Jeffs issue, he was the head of the FLDS.

Mormons don't participate or partake in alcohol, drugs, coffee, or too much red meat. It's actually rather healthy, and they also fast once a month for an entire day. It took me years and years to realize that it's actually a truly fascinating religion.

The culture in Utah is a little wack. Everyone lives in a bubble and are all extremely happy and also good looking, but some people can't take that.

I was honestly just going off CultWatch.org . As far as I know/knew it was a legit site. My bad, I was just thinking it explained some of this particular families wackier behavior...but some families are just wacky too.

I'm sorry if I offended you, I never meant cult as a negative either, as I hoped I explained (although I do understand it has a negative connotation and will refrain in the future)

Not offended at all! I can't help but be a little defensive since I live in the heart of Mormonism and there are SO many misconceptions. But I'm going to let you know that website is definitely NOT completely legitimate. One question, what do you mean by this family's wacky behavior? You mean their names?

Not just the names, they're behavior on instagram too! I have a very close family that seems quite similar, but we're also quite wacky (just with more normal names if you count some like "so and so the fourth, fifth, and sixth" normal)

I think she's got a unique look. I can find her in a sea of blondes and that's saying a lot for me. She could definitely stand to lose some weight tho, especially in her thighs.

She's way more interesting than her brother. This whole family looks like they've been created and shaped to please your average teenager on Tumblr, they all have that #look

RIGHT!? But they are bad for you.
You can't live forever even if you do everything "right", so might as well enjoy life in moderation. Alcohol and coffee also aren't "bad". Not everyone who drinks/uses drugs is a full blown addict.

I meant from a nutritional standpoint regarding alcohol/drugs, not that they're necessarily morally bad for you.
