This would be so much more entertaining if they showed the husbands along with them. Love me some sweaty, fat, bald men with a Rolex and Viagra prescription. Mmmmmm

I was reading this article and I found it curious how they talk about the goldiggers. Isn't that EXACTLY what they are? They just give it a different name to sound more acceptable and glamorous.
Personally, I find them tacky, vain and most likely dumb.

I wouldn't say they're dumb... just have different priorities.
I guess a gold-digger cares only about cash and not about the man?

For example, I wouldn't date a poor/average salary guy. On the other hand, I wouldn't date a man just because he is rich. Wealth is a prerequisite, but attributes such as intelligence, kindness or being well-grounded are as important. Yes, I have my own successful career, but I also want a highly financially successful man. Am I vain? Probably. Do I care? No, too busy living the good life.
For some people an average house in the suburbs and Zara is enough (and there is nothing wrong with it!). For some, it's not. None of them is better, it is all about what makes you happy. I know I wouldn't be happy living the life that the average-wage person lives. But that's just me.

Just to add, it might be a cavemen outlook on life, but I do believe (there's a research on that) that men look for the most physically attractive partners while women look for the most successful providers; all with the aim to pass along the best possible genes and ensure that their offspring survives. I want a man who will be able to send our kids to a private school, and he as a successful male would likely rather have a beautiful, smart woman by his side rather than a stupid, ugly one. Some of those jetsetbabes might have better brains than the vast majority of women; just because they're attractive doesn't mean that they are dumb. Is it not the same argument people use against models?

What you've said is very true, but I just read the article and it doesn't seem like the jetset wife has any actual career? Apparently she just waits around at home a lot.... her main concerns in life being "gold diggers" (aka girls trying to become a jetset wife via husband stealing). I think it's incredibly embarrassing the way the article mentions "she's on her third millionaire husband" as if that's an accomplishment of sorts. For a woman to be smart (in my eyes), she has to be driven, accomplished (in whatever way she deems fitting, whether it be a career or philanthropy), and genuinely intelligent. I don't think a woman trying to find a rich husband so she can have a cushy life qualifies as "smart". Ivanka Trump, Amal Clooney, Angelina Jolie are just some names that come to mind when I think "smart" - self made, and if someone of this caliber chooses to only date the ultra rich, that's their prerogative.

Agree for the most part. I think however that there are different types of being smart/intelligence. I meant it originally as in "she has a high IQ", or "she could do something else if she wanted". Wouldn't really call Ivanka Trump self-made; very different to come from obscurity, and to use daddy's money and connections and become successful.

I don't think a woman trying to find a rich husband so she can have a cushy life qualifies as "smart".
Depends on the prenup :whistling:
Sorry, I just had to.

Yeah not really the best example for 'self made' but she came to mind for some reason

Heather Mills comes to mind. 3 years and 45 million later..... that ROI...
Anyway I have nothing against jetset babes and marrying for money. I just think their wording is contradictory and just not something I'd aspire to.

Haha, was actually thinking of Elin Nordegren, Tiger Woods' ex when I wrote that. $750 million in divorce settlements, after 6 years of marriage.
Agreed, I don't aspire to it either, but I definitely get why they're doing what they're doing.

In my morning stupor, I read the title incorrectly and made a post cringing at the fact that the site was called jetsetBAE. Like, seriously grumbling about it. Thank god I realized my mistake and DELETED immediately:facepalm:

I LIVE for these things, man. I follow russia-instagram on Tumblr and it's filled with these ladies as well. I love how skinny most of them are - and I love how tacky some of them are as well lol. How can you not be fascinated by these people? On one hand a life like that seems empty and vain, far too materialistic, but on the other hand... who hasn't dreamt of those things? When I'm at work, dealing with customers complaining, sure I dream of the lives these women lead. But it makes you think. What happens when they get older? When their beauty fades and they haven't built up anything in the form of a job or an education, something which could make them independent?

Whatever. I enjoy looking at the pictures anyhow! Thanks for sharing.

God I didn't know there was an actual website! They're a bit too tacky for me but they sure have perfect bodies. Instagram is full of thinspo, it's becoming my favorite social network. Anyway, this bit ''A successful business man earns his wealth because he is constantly pushing himself to aim higher. That’s how he makes more and more money. He never satisfies with what he gets, there is always something better to be achieved. Unfortunately many successful business men think the same way when it comes to their women.'' It's interesting, they probably feel like they're in a constant competition with other women, Not a great feeling I guess but it must be a great motivation to remain skinny

I always find myself very amused by these kinds of women. Everyone in my family is highly successful with advanced degrees, and they wouldn't care how rich my husband was, they would still think of me as a failure unless I found my own path to success. So maybe I only don't envy trophy wives because of my upbringing.

I, too, am fascinated by these women. The shopping, their bodies, their beauty; it all seems so glamorous. It isn't something I would want for myself, I think I would become very bored and lonely. However, I am very privileged in that I was raised in a family that was able to push for higher education, traveling, etc, with our own money. That privilege puts me in a place where I cannot look down on other women for utilizing what they have to go after the same goals.

I feel like these women get a bad name for associating with men with money. But, whose to say those women didn't work freaking hard?! I know I definitely couldn't tolerate a man trying desperately to hold onto his youth, or bite my tongue whenever they said something I didn't agree with, or fake countless orgasms with a sweaty man older than my father, or tamp down any jealousies... (A bunch of stereotypes, I know :)) I hope that women are able to make it completely on their own one day, but that's just not realistic right now. So I just have major snaps for these ladies. And closet envy :D
