How has she worked for so long? I’m not saying she doesn’t deserve it but I’m wondering why it hasn’t worked out that way for others?
I think grit has a lot to do with this. Not saying that other models aren't hardworking or determined or resilient, but Hanne is definetely top of the game. She's come back from a car accident where she needed extensive physical therapy. She's also fairly consistent with her weight and appearance. My guess is that she's a hard worker with exceptional commitment and work ethic. Also a unique face and killer genetics when it comes to ageing doesn't hurt.
She seems very responsible and intelligent but most of all, a long-term thinker. When a lot of her peers were constantly photographed going to the south of France with new designer clothes, her street style was vintage and show gifts. A few years into her career she bought an apartment in NYC and then a second a couple years later. Compare that to VS models earning 10x her salary who ran out of money very quickly. The people she hangs out with (Nobis, Anna etc.) all also have good heads on their shoulders in terms of thinking long-term. So I believe she has always strategised well instead of living in the moment. I think she is basically a very hard worker and also extremely well liked - she has a few designers that have been very loyal to her such as Wang, Marc, Jason Wu, Raf, etc. She is fun, kind and good to the people around her and it has paid in the long-term I think.
