I really wish the media would stop sexualizing my profession (teaching). Like, that's pedophilia. If it was a man dancing around in sexual clothing in a classroom full of underage high school girls, people would flip their shit. Also, it doesn't make sense to spell out the word independent when literally everything in the video is done for men and BOYS. Men and boys who are below their status as celebrities, by the way. Like, not only do they look ridiculous, but they are dancing for some random milkman and teenagers. ew.
agreed--also the fact that power dynamics are sexualized has a long and somewhat nuanced history (biological, sociological, etc.) which as much as I'd love to discuss, is probably best left described as a "necessary/natural evil"k, it's still fucked up and would get any teacher fired.
I am not trying to say it's OK for teachers to have sex with their students FFS but I get annoyed when people throw around "pedophilia" and don't have any clue of the meaning. The reason it bugs me so much is bc sometimes people will say that to me about my teenage models doing sexy work and that isn't even close to what pedophilia is.agreed--also the fact that power dynamics are sexualized has a long and somewhat nuanced history (biological, sociological, etc.) which as much as I'd love to discuss, is probably best left described as a "necessary/natural evil"
^^not denying that it is true though
Sorry to stay off-topic LOL. I agree that the term 'pedophilia' can be used incorrectly but I do think that there is a difference between a 17 year old high school student having sex with a teacher vs a college freshman having sex with their professor. The difference is that in high school, the relationship between a teacher and a student is one of those relationships that the law/society considers a "relationship of trust and confidence" - meaning one person is in a weaker position vis a vis the other person and places a great amount of trust and reliance on the stronger person. Doctors/patients and lawyers/clients are the same. If a doctor had sex with their patient, the doctor would lose their medical licence. The law does not treat college professors and college students in the same way.Although I do think it's extremely dumb that a 17 year old high school senior having sex with her science teacher is a huge outrage but an 18 year old college freshman hooking up with his female professor is "hot" and it's high fives all around.
Sorry we're way off topic now
