Lili Sumner

This thread has been long abandoned, but I love Lili. Her, and the whole "Saint Laurent Girl Gang," of Kiki, Gracie, Lili, Veronika, Lida, and Julia (although she is more a musician than a model), I adore!

Moins! Thank you for the latest update on Lili. I totally forgot that I'm fond of her (and the rest of the gang).

She's so chic.

Aaaaannnd, you've got me wishing for a 'Saint Laurent Girl Gang' thread.

I think the Hedi Slimane YSL Girl Gang would be different than Anthony Vacorello haha but Slimane's is my favorite! I.e., Kiki, Grace, Lili, Veronika

Fuck, so true.
I wish I didn’t like Anthony Vaccarello, it would make this transition so much easier. Especially as I also prefer Slimane!

Why are so many people on this forum forgetting that models don't usually fit the "conventionally" pretty archetype (unless

Apologies for quoting a years-old post, but I wanted to express my agreement with its sentiment and expand on that particular point a bit.

Unconventional models such as Lili are what catalyzed my interest in high fashion, however pathetically minimal my knowledge of it undoubtedly is. (The emphasis on skinny physicality also played a part, of course.) Fashion means different things to different people, but to me, it is a liberating art form which allows me to nonverbally communicate my internal self to the external world. From what I’ve observed, commercial modeling seems to aspire toward an accommodation of normalcy, while high fashion modeling seems to revel in the absurd, the grotesque — and repackage those provocative concepts into an approximation of desirable beauty, thus transforming the very ideation of allure.

While I certainly appreciate models with conventionally beautiful aesthetics (Magdalena is a good example), I cannot relate to them the way I relate to “edgier” gangly models such as Marjan. Lili fits nicely into this category as well. I like her weirdness, because it validates my own weirdness. :)

I hope the above commentary isn’t too nonsensical. I’m just a plebeian, and most of the women on this forum can talk circles around me where these notions are concerned.

Now, here are some favorite pics of Lili that I think look totally awesome!
