K-pop Singers

Any 2ne1 fans in this thread?
They arn't super skinny like Girls Generation, but I do like their music. Esp this song.

Always my last round on the treadmill song. The chorus is all in english so it is very good motivation. And it sums up how I feel every second of every day
:p.

Thanks for suggesting the 2ne1 song. I use it for the treadmill now too :) Great motivation. I love kpop for working out just because it's so upbeat and I can picture the girls' dancing in their music videos in my head and they are all gorgeous!

I don't know anything about K-pop, but this just looks perfect to me.

Ugh looking at those photos gives me high jealousy issues. I have a huge jealousy of Asian (generally Jap and Koreans) girls and I know my bf likes them. I know he thinks I'm beautiful but I know he likes them.

Girl, I think you're beautiful yourself. Seriously you look really beautiful/cute in your profile pic!

I think you are absolutely beautiful the way you are. I am Asian and I used to hate how short I was, why I didn't have golden blonde hair or thick brunette waves, why don't I have blue eyes etc. I thought non-Asian girls were absolutely gorgeous and thought that I was ugly for being Asian.

Non-Asian men have a stupid misconceptiona bout Asian girls. They only like Asian girls because they think we are submissive and treat them like our masters. And they probably watch too much Asian p**n that plays up that stereotype. Asian women are the same as any other woman. We are educated and strong, not docile little country girls waiting to get married and serve their husbands and stay in the damn kitchen.

Really b/c my Asian friend says that guys like Asian girls because they are very like nice and treat them very nicely like pretty much what you described.

Though I agree with you because really all ethnicities have all types of girls-the rebels, the traditionals, the etc

Yea you'd think that they would have used some After Effects for this:

Because Korea certainly showcased that they knew how in this Jessica Gomes commercial!

OMG what happened to Jessica!? I didnt realize she was sooo chunky!

Oh god I know EXACTLY how that feels lol. I know they're normal humans girls like me, but I have a love/hate relationship with them cause they're so beautifullll, but my bf is into them. I think that when I see an asian girl, I unintentionally glare at her for an instant. It's not a because I'm racist against them, I'm just insanely jealous of them too lol.

K-pop singers have been my inspiration for the longest time. Favorite are Brown Eyed Girls :luv:

I watched an episode of We Got Married in which Ga-in and Jo Kwon were supposed to do a sexy photoshoot together. To prep for it, Jo Kwon asked Ga-in to work out with him in the gym. Ga-in had zero muscle strength and refused to do any exercise and Jo Kwon was like, "How are you going to prep your body for the shoot like this?!"

Ga-in replied: "I'll just starve for two days before the shoot."

Sounds like a girl after my own heart.

I'm going to stop lurking to comment on this post! Like you, I'm not necessarily a fan of k-pop (certain songs are all right, but the genre is a bit basic for my taste) but their bodies always impress me. Very tiny and delicate, yet still seemingly healthy.

I used to get Japanese fashion magazines when I was younger, and sometimes I would just sit and analyze the girls' legs rather than their outfits. I recommend looking up scans online (actual subscriptions are too expensive for most people). I'm really tall (5'10), which I know is the more generally envied kind of skinny, but I think I would give it up to have that super-narrow and girlish body Asian girls often have.

This is a photo of Hyuna, the girl with the 23-inch waist!

That's actually Goo Hara, Hyuna is a little curvier :)

She is amazingly skinny though but still looks very healthy! Some of the K-pop girls are like little Vladas when it comes to fine bones :luv:

Ah Kpop girls are my ultimate inspirations! They look skinny in such a healthy and elegant way. Plus they are sort of short which I can relate to.

My two biggest body insp. are:

Nana from After School. She is the exact same height as me (171cm) and is known as "the model". Though she is too short to be a model in the west she sure has model-like proportions!

2nd is Yoona from SNSD. She is just so elegant and dainty.

BUMP!

I have a friend who likes Girl's Generation. I'm not a fan and I care about them most because one of their members, Soo Young has pretty legs.
:p She's 5' 7.

You can distinguish her because she has the best legs

A little offtopic here...but a girl on youtube called "Oiseau88" is korean and her proportions are phenomenal! 5 ft.7 and 100 pounds :D She is a ballerina~

I think they attain their weights really unhealthily though - I read somewhere that the girls pretty much belong to their managers, that they're forced to eat something like a raisin a day with only 2l water until they attain a certain weight, or go on diets like fasting for two weeks, then half a cup of muesli, then another two weeks of fasting.

Apparently they're also quite often sexually abused by the managers (the girls at least). I'm not sure how much truth is in this, but it does seem likely...

I love k-pop idols and I also always use them as thinspo (especially Goo Hara) but it is true that there have been scandals lately about them getting abused (sometimes sexually) by their managers. They really don't seem to have much of a voice to defend themselves.
Also from what has been broadcast about them, their schedules sometimes are ridiculous, like being so busy with promoting that they only get two hours of sleep at most per night. That can't be healthy for them :(

Both of you are quite right about the sexual abuse. In the entertainment industry in S. Korea particularly, although Japan, Taiwan, HK and other Asian countries aren't exempt, being a young pop celebrity is probably one of the worst things to be if you're not backed by Daddy's money or connections.

It's like the survival of fittest. Only the ones who can take the abuse (and keep quiet about it), the grueling hours, the near-zero salary and the lack of prolonged sustenance without falling victim to drugs and alcohol to numb the pain, emerge to become solo superstars. The others either end up addicts, or drop out to return to normal life, or find a wealthy man to marry/be his mistress, or in some sad cases, turn to suicide. Some lucky ones remain in the business but achieve only moderate fame. The shelf life of majority of K-pop singers, especially those in girl bands, is very, very short and tenuous.

Good lord-- I haven't paid much attention to the kpop scandals since there is already so much abuse going on in Jpop (AKB's Minegishi being forced to shave her head for having a boyfriend, for example) but from what I have personally heard in the background I can't imagine they are treated well.
