Emily Ratajkowski

emrata appears to have gotten her pre-baby body back super quickly

I feel like the whole dispute is pointless, she probably has always shopped her flabby body into oblivion - be it before, during or after her pregnancy - and if Miss Holt hasn't realized that I'm sorry for her. Also why on Earth would someone look up to her edited self and feel shitty of themselves? I just personally find being jealous of sausage lips and a trashy presence ridiculous

I’ve heard from someone who works very closely with her (a few years ago) that she virtually never works out, meaning that the definition in her stomach is natural and her (barely slightly above average) body is either a result of calorie restriction or her natural shape. Probably wasn’t too hard for her to get her “pre-baby body” back; not like she had to kill herself in the gym for it.

What do you guys think? I hate emrata so a part of me tends to want to automatically side with whoever is criticising her, but I think Claire is being quite ridiculous. Just because emrata appears to have gotten her pre-baby body back super quickly does that mean she’s not allowed to post any body photos at the risk of upsetting other women? Please.

Yes, I agree with this. It’s the same thing as fat people saying skinny people should stop posting skinny workout pictures because we are “fat shaming” fat people.
If you can bounce back quickly from having a baby, go for it and flaunt your weight loss why not. Only insecure people might find this intimidating.

Also, that picture could have been an old picture (prior to the baby) that she’s just posting now. It’s also loose pants and her thunder thighs are hidden, so I would barely call it “skinny”.

Personally I don't feel any need to take a "side"; more than capable of holding multiple things in contempt simultaneously.

I'm pretty sure she just calorie restricts, and she's just lucky that her fat doesn't distribute on her stomach as much. I have a friend who has a similar torso that looks "defined" but she never sets foot in the gym. Just eats lots of junk but small portions, so she stays in a calorie deficit/keeps her weight down. Most interviews with Emily about her diet are phony, but I remember seeing this article years ago which seems more accurate of her diet:

I’m also fairly certain she uses makeup to enhance (if not totally fake) her abs — there’s often something unnatural or exaggerated about the shadows

So much for her baby not having a gender till it reaches 18 years of age... 🙄

I hate everything about the way she's handling her postpartum social media activity.
Attention seeking as usual; but it kind of feels worse now that there's a baby involved...

I mean, it's a picture of her breastfeeding and you just KNOW she made sure the focus was on making her boobs looking good (not that she succeeded)

Yeah for example, I have had a lot of yo-yo moments back then but I literally never gained on my stomach. Even on my worst times weight wise I might have look bloated or had a bigger waist but by normal standards my stomach has always been flat and it does take me very little efforts to have abs, meanwhile it always been harder on my thighs/hips. It’s just genetics. I think she has a naturally slim shape, even though of course I don’t find her to be skinny. She’s average slim. But does Claire Holt really expect to go on Em rata Instagram and find normality? Lol. This woman has a career because she sells sex. That’s it. It’s her job to mantain a physique that is attractive to men, let alone post partum. I know many women who jumped back easily to their normal body weight after giving birth (way easier after your first born btw) so why wouldn’t a celebrity/model which money depends on that body do the same lol?? I am sure most pregnant women are smarter than that and don’t expect a model influencer to stay with the extra lbs after giving birth, but have other things to think about perhaps

Also why are yoga and pilates for people not as worthy as a workout as hitting the gym? You might not burn as many calories but in my opinion you do get a better body in the long run

So Emrata posted this photo on her Instagram stories the other day and has been called out for it by Aussie actress Claire Holt:

View attachment 100325

According to Claire, the fact that Emrata has managed to lose all the baby weight and has a flat stomach just two weeks after giving birth makes her the exception, not the rule and it’s “unfair” for emrata to show off her body like that because it makes other women feel bad:

“I try not to be the Grinch on here, but I really wanna say something cos it’s annoying me. If you post a picture of your completely flat stomach 10 days after having a baby and call that body positivity, to me that’s the same as posting a picture of the millions of dollars in your bank account and calling that success positivity.

It might be true, but it makes other people feel s**ty about themselves, and it’s not normal, and you’re an outlier, and you’re lucky. So maybe don’t show that part? Can we just use Instagram to try and make people feel included and not feel shit about themselves?”

You can read the full story here if you feel so inclined.

For a start that's a blurry photo of her stomach and while it looks good for 10 days post-partum it definitely won't be exactly the same as before, even if it looks pretty close. I was shocked each time I had a baby by how rapidly I looked quite thin but it's a few weeks before your uterus totally shrinks back to normal. Her stomach looks very similar to how mine did on day 10.

She should post what she likes; it's not as though a photo of her stomach is a massive departure from her usual content - one of the most predictable things to happen in her pregnancy is that she'd post a carefully posed/edited shot to show how amazingly well she bounced back and that SOMEONE would be triggered by it, even though they should definitely have expected this to happen.

I find this "controversy" bizarre. Having a baby is your own choice, not something someone forced on you and it is supposed to be a meaningful life experience so if you want to keep your pre-baby body...don't have a baby?? Haven't you got better things to worry about? Emily doesn't look photoshopped tbh, plenty of people who look after themselves during pregnancy and don't take the opportunity to eat for 10 extra people look like this a few weeks post-baby.

I personally don't GAF about anything anyone says or does on Instagram but given Claire is the one whinging, I will say....as someone about to go through IVF constantly stressing about low success rates and costs that will spin out of infinity, I personally find that Claire is the one who is tone-deaf sitting on Instagram whining about Emily Ratajowski's stomach. If you wanna rant about Emily being lucky, maybe think about all the women who can't have a baby and realise you're the lucky one. Or don't, because actually it's not anyone's responsibility to think about everyone's feelings before they post. If you don't like what people post...unfollow.

The only beef I have is Emily claiming pregnancy did that to her lips...they look ridiculous.

My problem with this photo is that it is clearly trying to sexualize a photo of her with her child? Does anyone find that strange/uncomfortable? I honestly felt uncomfortable - not because I am a prude (and I have no problem with photos of mothers breastfeeding), but because I'd figure if I was posting a photo of my newborn child, I would want to make them front and center. Not myself/my breasts. I looked at the comments on the photo and they were gross - guys saying how the baby is a lucky boy... Just gross. This photo just comes off as self-centered. I know selling her body is her business and she needs to post sexualized images to appease her fan base, but I just found this photo to be distasteful. I also felt uncomfortable by her nude pregnancy photos - not because she was nude - but as someone mentioned, she looked very "porn star-ish."

I don’t agree with this, a woman breast feeding isn’t linked to sex and it shouldn’t even come to mind. The comments are a shame. And this happens to normal women too sadly

I completely agree with you. Only because not every woman would post a picture like this out of different reasons (taste, aesthetic, being comfortable in your own skin, career, etc) doesn't mean that we have to question it when they do. I mean, where are we or people, in general, are going to start or stop when it comes to sexualization?
It is just a picture and even if you don't find it appealing, just let it be how it is, that's it. Only by questioning it more if it too sexual or not, we are even more tightening the stigma around the whole thing.
I don't know if any of you guys get what I mean but in my head it makes sense.

Agree with you ladies - I don't think there is any problem in posting breastfeeding photos, I just felt like she was purposefully going out of her way to sexualize the photo. That could just be me though or my bias against her. Although, it was really the comments that got to me - and maybe it's not Emily's fault in this case. It's just her fan base sexualizing something that I feel shouldn't be sexualized.
