Model Eat!

And it's not like Sanne is eating pizza and cake for breakfeast... she's not super skinny (and I guess she's fine with that weight since her main focus rn is her channel), so she can eat meals like the ones she made in that video. It's not like you're gonna gain weight eating 1200cals

Feel free to disagree, but some people are too extreme and don't understand that if you want to be skinny long term, you need to do it the right and healthy way. If you don't, well... you can see what happened to many skinny models like Karlie

In my opinion that's a terrible thing to do to yourself. Maybe she's honest, fine, but it's possible to be skinny and still eat healthy and low calorie meals. How many girls read it and thought it was a good idea to just drink water and eat half a banana? It's like the "cheese diet" from The Devil Wears Prada lol
That's why so many models end up fat. You can't treat your body like that and expect it to mantain that weight for years.

I agree. Most of the models I know eat in a very normal, healthy way - and by that I mean that food is nothing more than a necessity for them. Some of them literally forget about eating, others are more conscious about it and really invest in their nutrition. The girls that I‘ve seen restricting so much didn‘t last long. I knew a girl who lost about 20 pounds when she was 17, got signed with an agency and after her first season she gained it all back within two months. I‘ve never seen anyone with a more fucked up mindset about food.
All in all, I’d say most models really are 'naturally skinny‘ - meaning they naturally eat so less that they don‘t have to struggle too much to get to a 34“ hip.

I don't support Sora's diet and I firmly believe that it will ruin your health if you will eat like her. I only support her honesty. She doesn't lie about her super healthy lifestyle like a lot of models do. I know a lot of models who tell everyone that they eat mostly in McDonald's, pizza, pasta and their hips are 86 cm, the show fast-food intake it in their instagrams. Sounds really funny when you see them during fw and see that they follow Sora's diet :)

We all know that skinny fashion models are not naturally thin no matter what they eat. They work so hard with diets and workouts to have that kind of body and that's why I would like to know more about their real habits, that sometimes are not healthy at all..

Models and skinny people in general naturally eat less, but that doesn't mean they eat extremely little or restrict to the point of constantly starving... I'm a 180cm giraffe, and I'm mindful about what I eat, just because I want to be model thin. But even if I didn't try and just indulged more, I'd still be quite thin. As opposed to my shorter sister who naturally has big thighs and calves, even at her skinniest when she sadly struggled with an eating disorder, she didn't have very skinny legs, even though her cheeks were sunken and she looked ill. What I'm trying to say is genetics do play a much bigger role in making it easier for someone to look heavier/skinnier, and getting the same results is way easier for someone like me who was always tall and lanky vs. the average person. I'm really not trying to brag here, just make a point

I like Sora Choi's answer because it's honest :
“A lot of people have asked me, ‘How do you diet?’ If I were to tell you the truth, my height and weight are 179cm and 47 kg. (I try and lose weight in a really extreme way. I’m not sure how other models diet.) During Fashion Week, I truly don’t even eat one meal. When Fashion Week is open, it goes on for over 4 weeks. So for 4 weeks, I only drink water. If I’m really struggling then I’ll eat half a banana.”

I’m surprised she’s this honest and the first time a fashion model would admit to this extreme method of dieting, so i also do appreciate her honesty.
179cm and 47kg? That sounds absolutely nasty to be honest and a recipe for weight gain down the road. Not very sustainable unless she plans on eating nothing forever. I would say 179cm, she’s good at maintaining around a weight of between 50-53cm and still looking very skinny.
I know that many models like to thin out during fashion week and deviate from regular eating habits for a while, but there are probably dire consequences that come with that especially when you do this every season every year.

I wouldn't say a BMI of 14.7 is absolutely nasty -- toeing the line maybe for some -- but Asian people generally a) naturally weigh slightly less, and b) have smaller frames, so it's not surprising 14.7 looks good, not sickly, on her.

And I'd like to point out that professional fighters (and probably other professions too) undergo similarly grueling weight cutting several times a year as well. Meanwhile the 'peak' age of an MMA fighter is between ages 27-32, where they'll have been doing it for about 10 years at that point. I'm not saying it's not damaging -- fighter or model -- but she choose this career and this is her method of being great at it, the consequences of which probably won't hit her until after her modelling days anyway.

I'm definitely talking out of my ass here, but TL;DR "absolutely nasty" is a strong word lol

It’s probably too extreme for some I agree. The sad thing is I just googled her images and she doesn’t look that skinny if I may say so myself. She doesn’t look like she is at 47, legs... I have seen thinner.
So I do agree with the fact that genetics has much to do with it.

Would any Russian ladies be willing to translate this video? As far as I can tell it’s an interview with some of our favourite SG models (such as Snejana and Vlada) about the eating habits of models. In the video, Snej supposedly admits that she barely eats to maintain her figure :luv:

A reminder that male models need to watch what they eat as well. ;)

From my experience male models generally have better self control than most female models tbh. Having lived with them until very recently, I can say that it was so easy to lose weight because all we had in our place was often just the necessities: water and cigarettes. ;)

Attached some pictures of Matt Hitt who’s more of a musician now but still pretty fit + surprise appearance by Tilda.:flower:

This is sooo true. Even outside modelling I find guys somehow more disciplined and rarely hear them making excuses. Also, some of my male friends are professional athletes and seeing them only drinking water and eating green salad without any dressing/seasoning day before the competition is extremely enjoyable. :naughty:

I think men don't have all the weird conflicting cultural baggage "be skinny but if you're not binging constantly you're starving and you're going to die of an ED, just be effortlessly thin" so they just... do what they need to do.
