I thought this would be an interesting thread while we're all cooped up during quarantine and inevitably shopping! This thread is in the fashion/clothing forum but you can post whatever you want (skincare, etc). I checked to see if this thread didn't exist and I'm pretty sure it doesn't, if it does please let me know!

Here are some of mine :flower: I've been working like crazy at my hospital because of COVID (lots of night shifts, followed my day shifts... Aka I sleep at the hospital for a few hours and get right back to work:cry:) so this is my way of treating myself during all this madness.

I have a slight shopping addiction but given the current economic situation, I’ve stopped shopping altogether. Now just trying to save as much as possible in light of all this uncertainty. Though I do like the idea of this thread and I’ll share some pre-coronavirus purchases when I get the chance!

I have been great with my diet and a :badgirl: with my wallet... please enjoy. I'm the kind of person who skipped meals in college to pocket that money for quality clothes and not much has changed...

Blouse (French Connection)
I'm obsessed with this - super classic fit above, but a chic crop below, looks excellent with high waisted skirts

Bag (Chloe)

This was a planned purchase for April (eg had budgeted it in for the past year) - but splurged a bit earlier the first weekend we heard about COVID since I figured all stores would close eventually (link to small but got the mini in this color).

Jeans (Levis)

I didn't buy these - sister ordered a pair in their smallest size (24) - they didn't fit her but fit me / were out of other sizes so I get to keep them 😅 she's beautiful and could easily lose but it's just those last 5-10 pounds that require commitment

Dress (French Connection)

Would not recommend - looks cheaper in person and I'm trying to return (though the shoulders are lovely)

I’ve bought this LED Light Therapy mask on Amazon but I’m not sure if it works. When I do light therapy in clinic it is clearly much stronger and intense, but I hope this at home on has a little of the same effect.

I've used this and I'm not sure it did much :( I had super severe acne (covering every inch of my face ) and went on Accutane. I tried this for the scars and texture but I didn't see much of a difference. I know it has multiple uses so it could be helpful for whatever your specific issue is! I do think light therapy at clinics works better.
I'm a bit serum-obsessed now so I would totally recommend The Ordinary for products if you need skin help :luvluv: Alpha Arbutin gets rid of any redness from old marks, Niacinamide w/ Zinc helps smooth my skin and keeps spots at bay, and of course retinol. And I totally have a hoard of 20 other serums. I hate alcohol and everything else so this is my addiction

I hope the mask works out for you. I always wanted it to work for me.. especially now that all the facial aesthetics clinics are closed!

I've been using retinol (0.2% I think?) for the last four-ish weeks and I'm finally starting to see some of my acne scars fading. What would you say the difference between just retinol and Niacinamide is? I've heard good things about niacinamide, but it feels redundance to use both?

Niacinamide can be used during the daytime (whereas retinol should only be applied at night). You can also use it more often as it doesn't irritate your skin from excessive usage. It can also be used to keep spots from appearing, in addition to its anti-aging properties. And it can help brighten your skin :flower: Its main use is to keep pimples from appearing if you have relatively clear skin!

And this super cute Stella McCartney We Are The Weather sweater. Safran Foer’s book was such an enjoyable, enlightening read. And the sweater looked so cozy, I just had to.

Obviously I’m terrible at saving money. :smash:

Not the usual fashion purchase post but - I just panic bought three books on Amazon because I've heard deliveries are delayed and I'm running out of reading material! :run: I bought Stoner (by John Williams), Three Women (by Lisa Taddeo), and A Gentleman in Moscow (by Amor Towles).
Apart from that, I am seriously tempted to buy these:

I have little self control when it comes to beautiful out of season pieces and this quarantine season has made me justify any recent purchase as morale boosters (They make me temporarily happy; I always buy XS or S so I DEF CAN'T gain ) or something of the sort.

Got this Louis Vuitton A/W 2009 jacket online. Currently patiently waiting for its arrival.

Got something similar to this through a friend. A thrifted Chinese Mandala jacket. I've been into anything chinoiserie recently.

And this dress that I completely forgot about until it arrived today so that's nice; like a little surprise from me to me.

Beautiful things give me comfort during these times but I hope this habit won't drive me to financial ruin. :nopity:

I just impulse-ordered this For Love & Lemons dress. Hoping this’ll all be over soon and I’ll have a reason to wear it while it’s still so exciting and gorgeous to me.
