I... I don't know how to feel about this. I mean it isn't horrific but these also aren't the most flattering photos in the first place.
Don’t take it personally. Maybe I’m just clinging onto the hope that she will one day return to the Kaia we know and love, but I don’t think she looks as bad as you make her out to be. I’d argue that she’s still better than 80% of runway models right now but ultimately I just have an irrational soft spot for her and am struggling to come to terms with her slight gain. They say the first stage of grief is always denial...
(Also my upper body looks kinda like that rn and it’s bugging me enough knowing I *let myself go* without having people freak out over someone similar on the internet LOL)
I feel like this is a combo of her no longer growing up a bit and developing (when she was at her skinniest she was 15 or so no?) and also as society trends more towards “body positive” there’s not nearly as much incentive to stay that thin and it can even be a bit harmful. I think that’s why a lot of the other girls who used to be super skinny have gained as well. That being said she still looks better than most models so @stargirl i wouldn’t be too upset about looking like this ☺
And that bikini is horrible. Its too small or looks like she wear it too low and makes her look weird
I don’t think she’s looking that bad. Those aren’t the most flattering pictures of her and her body might not be the best it’s ever been, but I agree with @stargirl and I still think she looks good and have high hopes that she will get back on track asap!
Yeah, that was my initial thought. She had a body type of a little boy (small hips, wide arms, relatively tall) whereas now she is developing boobs, a bit of a butt... To be honest, what bothers me is her face. She looks very sick and kinda sad? Maybe it's just her resting face and my wild imagination + the body language aka a terrible posture but she looks absolutely devastated.
I agree with you about those photos, not because she looks fat or flabby but because the overall silhouette is odd. As previously mentioned in this thread, she has very unfortunate proportions and the hunchback doesn’t help, neither does that bikini top which draws attention downwards towards her nonexistent waist.
I think most other models would look great at her weight, it’s just that she resembles a rectangle with a lollipop sticking out from the top.

This is what I was thinking. She seems to be apple shaped - big boobs for her size - and the bikini or her posture isn't doing any justice to her in those pictures...
New pics - legs have looked better but still looking pretty darn good IMO. And the new hair has definitely elevated her look!
Can we just appreciate her new elevated style? She used to wear jean shorts and tank tops all the time and I feel like her sense of fashion matured over the past couple of months. She is definitely more put together and not boring to look at. While she used to dress like a typical LA model now she definitely has an it-girl potential. I need this jacket in my life.
Edit: ok, the shorts are still there but they’re not as in your face. Or am I just biased since I love her so much?
It’s interesting to see how the weight gain impacts her stature. It reminds me of 14yo Kaia, especially the legs. Her upper body appears much broader - shoulder padded blazers might not be the best choice imo - and her face looks wider and younger, too. If I’m honest, to me she doesn‘t look as radiant and striking as last year.
I actually don’t like to judge the slight (but still visible) weight gain of a 17 years old girl, also because I could imagine that she is not very comfortable with it and I must admit that I have a soft spot for her; she seems really focused and professional compared to other nepo models so I hope that she’ll get back on track.

Some recent shots of her out shopping. I have to say that her street style has definitely improved - though I am not a fan of this outfit (those sneakers with the too long pants!). I’d also rather see her in outfits that show off her amazing legs rather than her (far less amazing) stomach!
That gain in her face definitely doesn't make her look as stunning as she has been before.
