Figured it would be amusing to actually post all my current tattoos:

Right hip.

Left wrist.

Right forearm (still need to go in for a few touch ups on this one, but I love it anyway).

And in just under 2 weeks, it will be time for tattoo #5 - a diagram of a counter turn on my right inner ankle. :)

Beautiful ink! How many tattoos do you have in total?

Thanks! I have one very large and two small, in addition to the one I posted. More are planned; my creativity is limited because they have to be hidden by (summer) business casual.

I am pretty much covered in tattoos at this point (half sleeve, both upper thighs, entire back, both ankles/feet) and I plan on getting more, because it's not like there's any point in stopping now. my first two tattoos were when I was 15, and I have had them both covered since then. sometimes I miss the clean/simple/classic look but on the other hand I love my tattoos.
I have seen some pretty bad ones though, and I will say that I only like them if they aren't tacky/too colorful/cliche and not on everyone!

I love tattoos when they're well done. There's something really raw and sexy about an artful tattoo. I've thought about getting one for a while now, but my parents are so against tattoos I think I'll have to wait a few more years before I finally follow through on my plan.

I would really love to tattoo something related to my husband <3 <3 <3...

BUT
1) Many tell me it is a bad bad idea, to get something related to your man.
2) My man is not a fan of the idea, and think it is disgusting to inject ink inside your body.
3) I am afraid it will not look right.
4) I am more afraid of how it will look in the future, if I gain/lose weight, become really old and wrinkly.

For now, maybe I will try a temporary henna tattoo ;) I had two in the past, and was so happy with them.

supposedly getting your husband/boyfriends or wifes/girlfriends name tattooed on you is a jinx :run:

I really wanted something for my husband as well (anniversary gift). At first I was going to do his name (everyone said don't) so instead, after 3 months of thinking and researching, I did our wedding anniversary date in roman numerals. Its really small (and classy) and in a hidden place (not in a bathing suit though) and I love it so much! Since its not his name, there is no jinx

Even though I just got this not too long ago, I plan on getting one more soon (a tiny one).. It's my astrological sign, probably about the size of a dime or so, either on the nape of my neck or on the inside of my ankle.

I feel like such a typical white girl, but I absolutely love the flying swallow tattoos. I also love the quote 'I am what I choose to become." If I ever get a tattoo, it will be one of those 2 and I'd like to get it on my rib cage which will hurt like hell, but w/e.

I always wanted a tiny swallow! I still kind of do, but I'm running out of spots to put tiny tattoos that would be hidden! Haha

Sorry for bumping an old thread, I’m just curious about you girls’ opinion on this tattoo I want to get.
I know that tattoos are a very personal thing and that I shouldn’t base people’s opinions on whether or not to get it, but it’s simply because I know that you girls have the prettiest and classiest tastes in everything and are also brutally honest so your opinion might be helpful since I’m still very hesitant. I want to get this, same placement, same everything:

This would be my first tattoo ever. I just thought this is such a cool and unique design while still being very delicate and simple. I want it so bad but I’m at the same time terrified of regretting it someday. What do you girls think?

If you love it, think about it for a good while and go for it—but if you really want my opinion, I’ve seen plenty of the worst, faux-spiritual, crystal chakra wannabes covered in those tattoos. You do you though.

I do see similar things online too, but the difference is that I live in a part of the world where only a minuscule percentage of the population is tattooed, and I’ve literally never met someone with this kind of design or with an inked hand so that’s why I said it would be pretty unique! Also to me it’s not at all about spirituality or chakra-related things I just thought it’s very pretty :)

Yes it's pretty and delicate, but the placement is kind of odd. It'd be the best call to not tattoo your face/head, neck and hands - but since I do not know abt your job or career option, I wouldn't know if it would become a problem in any situation.

Think if it's a timeless design. When you'll be 60y/o, would you still rock it?

If you totally love it, henna tattoo it first and play around with different jewellery (if you use) and accessories to see if it works.

@Plume

I personally find the design very lovely—it's elegant and very intricate; I'm just a college student so I don't have much experience with, umm, the varieties of people out there, so to speak, but so far I haven't really met a lot of chakra-ish-New-Age-like individuals. I suppose the design could look a bit generic next to them, but if you live in a part of the world where this is rare, I'd say go for it!

I also agree with @saturation's comment above though—I think it could be rather "risky" or daring to tattoo such a visible area. Although if you're sure you won't regret it, I think it's a lovely idea :)

Although, tattooing on the hand sounds quite painful! If you do decide to get it, I hope it's bearable ahaha;;

I am heavily tattooed... several smaller ones, a back piece that extends down over my hips, and a sizable one on my calf. I love ink.

It's beautiful but my vote is a solid no.

Here's why:

Placement - Ink does not last or wear well on hands and feet. It deteriorates rather quickly (look at Cara's lion). This would be compounded by the superfine line work. (I have a solidly lined one on my foot that I've had reinked three times - it's now a small patchy blob). Also hand tattoos are impossible to hide and, esp if you live in a conservative society or (want to) work in a business environment, they will limit your employment opportunities.

Fine/delicate line work - unless you are working with a highly skilled artist who specializes in delicate/fine lines the odds of a visible blowout or crooked line are extremely high... and even if you are the margin for error is as high as those lines are fine. Also longevity which I mentioned above. I know people with similarly fine tattoos who are experiencing fading/patchiness after less than two years and already looking at removal or coverups... and those arent even on their hands/feet.

I would also avoid any artist who doesn't explain these things to you before agreeing to ink you.

Ultimately the decision is your's to make but that's my two cents for what it's worth.
