Kay Smetsers (Girlnah on Tumblr)

According to this old post, she said she was 20 in 2015. She's at least 23 now, maybe 24.

I feel like this must have been her lying on the internet to help with an online persona back then and the age on the article being somewhere closer to the truth? I highly doubt as a non-nepomodel her agency would market her as younger to allow her to more easily adhere to the 'new face' stereotype.

I screencapped this a while back and have been meaning to post it because her facial expression here is simply priceless

Also I think her personal style fits quite well with the recent Gucci collection.

I know girls who just signed with my agency who are 24-25 and being sold as 20 years old...it happens more often than you think

Interesting, is she actually improving? Still a flare of the crazy eyes but less so and this lighter hair is better....softer and more calming. I think it's a steady improvement AND her hands don't look like dead mannequin hands:D...finally!

Am I the only one that gets both scared and excited by updates to her thread...heheh

For a model such as Kay, I'm always curious...is she actually profiting from modeling yet. She did do a Gucci campaign...but her thread hasn't been updated much outside that.

Kay, with her hopefully regrown & in tact petals, better work even harder so we can post some steady updates here..... let's see if she pops up in other shows...

Edit: Plus, the MJ show seemed to have some pretty good lighting. I'm always shocked when lighting is bad for a show and the models look very shadowy.....

I also think that blonde suits her more, too bad she's going to dye it brown again

She walked at Rodarte too

I have this weird sort of parental pride towards her; I really would like to see her do well.
Same. We've watched her go from some model-wannabe, to actually being signed and being incredibly bad, to this. Kay, if you're reading, congrats on your hard work. It's really paying off, and we're rooting for you.

She just closed Marc Jacobs

I think people are starting to do some cool things with her styling which is great because she has a really unique look and it seems they are making the most of it. The picture above is great I think; not my taste at all in any way, but I think it works as a look.

'The Witching Hour' editorial (source).
I liked some of the shots, some others were quite hideous

Some of the ones I liked:

Some others not so much:

^^ Probably b/c the LESS voluminous or heavily layered clothing she wears the more it requires her to SKILLFULLY pose. In this way she just needs to worry about 1) claws, 2) neck up...and we know these 2 areas still present challenges...

improvement yes...but her thread has been around 5 years...5 LONG years. *sigh* learn FASTER Kay...FASTER...

However, I also like this picture. It looks like she almost has something energetic and likable here. A small, very minute, demonstration of range and emotion perhaps IS possible...Props to the photographer for capturing it in that fraction of a second.

I don't think I realized, until this comment, how many shots of her are head stuck on shoulders... not all of us are blessed with a giraffe neck but it's not like she's built like a bulldog either. Someone needs to send her to ballet class...
