Kaia Gerber

Anyone that thinks she's naturally this thin is living in a dream world--she's lost at least 10 lbs even since starting this season, 15 since her highest probably. She's naturally lanky and thin but to achieve weight loss at that weight already requires at least *some* restriction, ~1000 calories or so. I highly doubt she's eating 3 meals a day and snacks or having bread and pasta.

"has a different body type than her mom." Yeah, because Cindy admitted to not dieting the way models do now. I thought we weren't the "genetics=be all to end all for body type" crowd...

I don't think she has that body by eating McDonald's every night, but I don't think a 16 years old who's tall and lanky needs to restrict to the point where she eats 350 cal like an user suggested. I am talking this way because I have cousins who are Kaia's age, and are just a tad shorter than her but they're as thin as her, they just do a lot of sports and are extremely young so they don't need to diet to be skinny. When I was 16 it was a lot easier for me to mantain a certain weight too. So in short, no, I don't believe in it being all genetics and 'metabolism' but there is nothing wrong in saying that she doesn't have the same body type as her mom. Cindy was really voluptuous, had big boobs, thighs and butt, Kaia didn't, even prior to losing. A tall 16 yrs old might have to do less and not extreme restricting compared to a girl in her early 20.

I agree that she's restricting to an extent. I'm her age and have several friends who are just as thin as her and don't restrict (a couple even eat more than average). The difference is that they are super active, as in they do intense workouts 2x a day: one's even an elite athlete. As a result they are insanely toned and need a lot of energy from food. So, the stereotype of the skinny teenager that eats a lot is somewhat true here. Kaia, on the other hand, has a more normal proportion of body fat for this age and while she def has a busy lifestyle, does't seem to be into sports. In particular, the fact that she lost weight between ages 13-15 is really unusual and tells me that hard work and restricting is going on here.

two comments...b/c this is skinny gossip.

1. what is with baggy cut offs....or daisy dukes or coochie cutters as they use to be called. Now they just resemble jean diapers. It's not just Kaia's fault..she's probably too skinny to find her size. I've seen the same diaper jeans on college campuses and yeah. eww

2. Only in the US is seeing someone so thin something so rare. Yes, I think she is thin, but time warp 30 years ago so were most 15/16 year olds. Go to a non westernized country and same thing.

Super model legs, yes, but only so remarkable b/c increasingly rare in this day and age,...

I do like her fannysack-style bag though...I know I've seen it before. Where is it from?

Wasn’t sure if I should put this in Kaia’s thread, Julia’s thread, “funny things you saw today” or “fat people say the darnedest things”.

Why is it hard for some people to grasp that models need to maintain their figures... yes she is skinny but why is that inherently bad to some people? At least she keeps her body in check unlike certain nepo models.:wtf:
Also I am jealous of those legs

Well if she keeps hanging with the nepo models she's going to ruin the solid reputation she's built so far. Next thing you know she'll have packed on twenty lbs and be a disgrace just like them. God I hope she gets away from them....plus there's a pretty big age gap there and it's weird people keep trying to lump them together.

I don’t know if her hanging out with certain individuals will automatically revert her into some sort of 7-11, rebok, Nike, Dairy Queen,IN N Out, instagram diva. But I don’t know, maybe she will end up banking on her inherent status and the prospect of nepotism, but right now I don’t think it needs to be taken so seriously.

Although, I will forever mourn her legs if she gains 20lbs ;)

She has really wide shoulders, which can look bulky on some people, but it works for her. Her whole collarbone/shoulder area is so delicate. I see a lot of talk on here about her legs and while they're perfection, her upper body is stellar.

Because most people in the west think it's "unacceptable" that an industry requires its "employees" to maintain an underweight BMI which is seen as "unhealthy".
Though most never voice their issue with unhealthy practices in other fields such as alternating open/close shifts and coming into work sick in the food industry, or 12-16h shifts for nurses and residents in healthcare... I wonder why.

do they not know how easy it is to lose weight at that age? i was able to lose a whole 10 lbs by accidentally skipping breakfast at 15 (exaggeration but you get the point) why do people begin reaching when it comes to someone losing weight?
