just wondering if anyone has watched Feed - it was written, directed by, and starred Troian Bellisario. The trailer looked a bit like a horror but it's about the development of an eating disorder. Troian has openly spoken about having an eating disorder so I'm really intrigued by this. Buuut she does say that it may trigger people and to make sure it's a good idea before watching.

Most importantly, it has Malfoy from Harry Potter in it.

I haven't watched it yet, but if I find a good link I will post it.

That also really confused me. It seemed a lot like a horror type of film when I watched the trailer, but Troian kept talking about how it was about eating disorders in interviews and such. I wasn't really a big fan of the trailer, but I like Troian so I plan to watch this week.

Why don't you post this on the "thinspiration movies and shows". Let's stop making threads that are not necessary, use the ones that are active please, I know you are new but you can read the "message for new members" thread and learn before posting!

Here check this thread and post this kind of stuff here: https://www.skinnygossip.com/community/threads/thinspiration-movies-shows.538/
I mean no disrespect, but maybe the person who created this thread felt that this movie about eating disorders does not fit in a thread about thinspo. EDs and thinspiration are very different things, and if even us skinnies mix them up; it may further encourages "average" people to say all skinny people are anorexics/ have an eating disorder.

Of course ed's are not thinspo at all, but go to the thread and read the first post, it says:" Any movies or TV shows over eating disorders or thinspiration!".
We have threads to organize topics so we do not have million threads, so please as someone new please respect the way we organize this site.
Just my two cents for someone new :luv:

It doesn't seem logical or appropriate to group EDs and thinspo together at all; if I had done a search and read the thinspo movies thread title I would never have thought to put an ED film in there and I wouldn't have bothered reading the first post because the thread title doesn't mention EDs.

Searching the forum usually comes up with dozens if not hundreds of results. No-one can be expected to inspect the contents of each one to find out if their topic is mentioned anywhere in there, especially when the title of the thread seems completely unconnected to the theme they want to post on.

I think the same as you! I always try to use the search button and look for different words regarding the topic so not to make new threads that can bother the other members.
But as the thread said ed movies I thought it was more practical to put it there.
I didn't think it twice, but just saw the thread that said ed movies and thought :"we should put it there not create new threads?"

My bad I'm sorry I take the responsablity, I do not think at alll that ed's are thinspo. As someone who has barreled an ed for 6 years, it is sick to me when I think about thinspo related to ed.
Once again i apologize

Oh don't apologise! I agree that we need to keep the forums tidier and it's best to keep each topic in a single thread - just in this case the original thread title is not very accurate and it's the fault of the member who created that thread to have bundled EDs and thinspo together - that's obviously not how we want to portray SG and people could easily find it triggering.

I'm so sorry about your struggles :( I know from your posts here that you've been through some awful difficulties. Please keep up your battle; you deserve to be free of this miserable problem.

Let me know what you think :) I'm hoping to find it at the weekend.

Yep, I didn't think ED-related films would be in the thinspiration thread (although it did strike me as a bit odd there wasn't a place that collated ED films) and it doesn't quite sit right with me to put them there anyway. It was nice to read this thread, I love how SG ladies constantly prove that they don't encourage disordered eating in its pursuit for this aesthetic.

@ssmini I'm sorry to hear that you have struggled with eating disorders, I wish you all the best with taking care of yourself.

I was just INCREDIBLY confused clicking on this as my brain somersaulted and I thought this was a thread on a remake of the 2005 film "Feed" .

And now we can all be grateful it isn't a remake of 2005 Feed. :hahano:

~Oh, y'know, just from a fun chick flick night with the girls!~ :drama:;)

No, oh lord no - I've never seen it and don't plan to.

I was on reddit yesterday and it was mentioned in a thread somewhere, including the basic premise, so coming to SGF 10 mins later and seeing "Feed" in our movies section, well, that's where my mind went.
I just needed to share the horror and pain of my brain's mistake with SGF. :spazrun:

Sorry for the major derail! And sorry for any incoming nightmares due to the 2005 movie posters! :whistling:

The movie definitely seems interesting, but the trailer is a bit misleading, like everyone mentioned above :D I think it may be intentional; perhaps she wanted to convey that having an eating disorder is just as terrifying (if not more terrifying) as a horror movie?

I'm wondering, though-did Troian have to gain weight then lose it again for the movie? Her face looks considerably rounder before the main character's brother dies. If she did, then I am impressed. It must have been hard.

Most importantly, it has Malfoy from Harry Potter in it.

:D That is very important indeed

I was looking for "Feed" and ended up looking for another movie too
Mine was closer to the topic.

I watched Fed Up which is a movie about "An examination of America's obesity epidemic and the food industry's role in aggravating it." It's basically about how fucked up is food in the US and how that diet is making people sick and killing them.

I think she lost for the role, so I presume her face at the start is how she is normally. I still haven't seen it, so not sure how 'horror' it is, will update asap!
