Elle Fanning

I saw the movie on Sunday. It was like a cross between The Black Swan (except for modeling instead of ballet) and The Clockwork Orange (it was more about the visuals than the dialogue). The score is beautiful, haunting and trippy. Same for the scenes. It is darker than you would expect from the trailer, an abstract representation of the modeling industry. Abbey has a bigger role than I expected, and she looks really good in the movie. Overall, I liked it, but the plot is very thin.

I also never would have thought that she's actually 1,75m- she looks so much shorter! Hence why I was very unimpressed by the choice to cast her as the "most beautiful model ever" in the Neon Demon. But after seeing the movie I have to admit that she indeed fitted the role (or at least what the movie made out of it..)

Does anyone have her leg type?

I do, and I'm a taller girl (not very, 173cm, 5'8") as well. It's very hard to not look stumpy. The worst thing you can do, though, is wear skirts. Unless they are ankle length, you're going to look even squatter. You need to maintain a very low bmi for your thighs to look good, but your calves never will, so you have to put yourself in pants at your lower weights to show off the part of your leg that actually IS thinner, skirts just never work. We don't have the right calves or ankles, as shown here

Okay, okay, okay (sorry guys, lots of coffee today.):

Obvious this 'thickish' leg thing is genetic, duh, but is it possibly related to weak ankles?
Hypoth: weak ankles and feet burden the calf muscles with more work, and thusly more muscle/fluid/soreness/ugly.
weak ankles: when you feet are collapsing and rolling out of alignment with knee and tibia, can result in tibial torsion (permanent bent or twisted tibias that require one to use their feet incorrectly lest they walk duck-footed or pigeon-toed).
I'm noticing a strong correlation between folks with bad feet and ankles and bad legs, just like Sasha Luss and Elle Fanning.

^^kind of a confusing picture. the left pair of legs is correct because the knees and feet face the same direction, the right does not.

^^while Sasha's bones are definitely bigger, look at how her foot is angled and her ankle collapsed compared to the girl's on the left

^^Elle's aren't as bad as Sasha's but look how much stronger/better aligned her dad's are

Firstly, I know she's a kid, but that photo of Elle -:(

Secondly, I can't say for sure if correlation or causation, but my ankles DO do this.

Holy shit. I've got these legs and I've always been angsty about my chunkier calves. I am now, looking up ankle strengthening exercises as we speak.

@chicbones me either. do you think shes 130ish?
Sasha has them too :whistling:
Kristina+Ti+Fall+2012+5h_eSmHCN0Cx.jpg
Probably higher than 130 if she's 5"9, I was 130 and a bit shorter at my HW and I still looked less chunky, even in pictures.
As for the weak ankles thing it's definitely possible. I developed arthritis as a kid and my knees, ankles and toes are quite weak, especially as it went untreated for a long time. It would explain why my knees (in particular) and calves are such an eyesore if the extra burden is causing them to retain more fluid.

I feel like she's one of those celebs that for some reason you believe or expect to be thinner than they actually are. I always forget how chunky her legs can look because she looks like a fairy :flower:vSuch a perfect, delicate face and skintone.
I'm loving this new generation of actresses

I've posted some in my Skinning Finishing School Thread

god speed

Sorry if I'm just copying whatever is in the Skinny Finishing School, but the easiest and one of the better ankle exercises is to, before bed (jk, whenever really), use your toes to spell the alphabet as your leg is lifted.

I have this but my feet are weirdly shaped in the sense that if I align my ankles and knees properly, part of my foot doesn't touch the ground so I have to wear orthotics ): They fix my hyperpronation and my knees.

Argh, I have this leg shape too, and I'm pretty sure my ankles are weak, because when I walk upstairs for example, I can feel there's a lot of strain on my calves which I long suspected those with less chunky legs may not have. My legs look eerily similar to Sasha's in the picture posted above.
Elle's legs in this case are pretty unfortunate naturally, she'd have to lose a looot of weight to get nice legs (and she should).

I'm tempted to make a thread dedicated to this ankle/knee thing with a poll. My legs start looking decent when I'm ~92lbs., at which point half of my hair has fallen out and I'm an absolute skeleton from the hip up--kinda trading a headache for an upset stomach, no? If I had to guess how much weight Elle would need to lose to have nice legs, I couldn't because it would be a fuckton.
