Supersize VS superskinny

I was watching this episode of Supersize VS Superskinny today and was so confused :confused: It said that the superskinny man was eating 2,600 calories a day, when the healthy amount of calories for a man is 2,500 a day. I think that this can confirm that they are most likely overestimating the superskinny's daily calorie intake to prevent others from copying their diet.

Lol so few days ago I was watching an episode with my bf and he suddenly asked me if I had an eating disorder (there was this bit about 3 women with ED battling their issues) and I obviously said I don't (because I don't) but I don't think he believes me :D He suspiciously started buying me sweets every day and he seems to observe and analyse my reactions :hahano:. If I suddenly disappear from the forum I'm probably in the feeding clinic. Thank you, supersize vs superskinny, thank you so much.

First of all you better not disappear on us Spirit! Second of all, thank you for alerting me about the dangers of watching supersize vs superskinny with others. Why can't your boyfriend assume you're like the superskinny in the episode (which you mostly are like, except your diet is way healthier), and not the people struggling with EDs X_x I hope you can convince him that you don't have a problem, so you don't have to be sent away.

Oh don't worry love, I was just joking with that, he would never force me to undergo treatment. Nevertheless, his reaction amused me quite a lot :D He knows I have strange relationship with food and accepts it, also he knows nothing about EDs, so I educated him on the matter and it's all ok now :)

This youtuber's comment made me burst out laughing :lol: :
"How come the fat people are always like 100+ pounds overweight and the underweight people are never more than ten pounds underweight?"

and then some smartass replied:
"There's only so much underweight a person can get before their body isn't going to function and they're not going to be able to participate in the show (or will be classed as anorexic). That'd be my guess. But sometimes they're up to 2 stone underweight, which is 28 lbs."

My ex-boyfriend ate exactly like this (but less). Chocolate bars, lollies, pizza, burgers/chips and cigarettes OR incredible restaurants. Everyone would rage on about how he was so slim but ate junk. The reality was is that was ALL he would eat so it was max 1500ish per day.

This show is definitely one of my guilty pleasures!

I agree that they often over-estimate the calories on a lot of the super-skinnies, though. There's just no way that some of those totals make sense. They'll make a big deal about how all someone eats in a day is a cup of tea and three prunes but then somehow it adds up to right around 2,000 calories :orly:

I liked the first few seasons much better. Towards season 5/6 they only focused on the overweight and only did a day of swaps rather than a week. I do think they got overly concerned with being thinspo or triggering eating disorders.

This is a great episode. The supersize basically lies about what she eats (whether maliciously or out of denial) and she does not react well to being called out. If she had been eating how she said she was during the food-diary week, she'd be losing weight!
 
Tatiana remains the nicest-bodied superskinny ever to appear on the show, in my opinion.

I'm always super interested by the superskinnies that never did return episodes, or did them but didn't really change much. I wonder if they are naturally on the skinnier side or if they were just forced onto the show by family but didn't actually have any desire to change their bodies.
 
I just watched S7E1. The skinny has a nice figure to begin with, doesn't look "shockingly skinny" to me at all. Her eating habits are ridiculous, though. But how a single sandwich and for cups of coffee add up to 1400 calories that's beyond me :D
