Short Models?

Why didn't anyone tell me about this agency before, at 5'2" I can still become a "model"?? My dreams are coming trueeee :spazrun:

*filling in application form ASAP*

:hmm: I'd be worried about an agency that talks about your bills you have to pay them in their about us rather than a commission. Isn't that a sign of model agency scams usually?

Good luck anyway if it isn't.

Agreed. skinnysophia, I would implore you to do your homework regarding this agency. I'm sure that you're a lovely girl. But we must be realistic. You are 5'5. I'm not saying this to bully you - but you will most likely never runway model. And that's ok! Most girls never do. As one person pointed out, there is a short russian model who's 5'4 and exclusively face.

This agency, as well as their models....well....it looks like an agency that preys on girls like you who most likely will not model due to their stats. You pay them money, they "look for a job" for you - and if you are lucky, you land one or two small, small gigs that may pay a little bit, if at all.

It's 2014 and every girl in the first world has been told that she's beautiful! and so gorgeous! and she should model! and it's gotten to their heads. Agencies like this exist to feed the egos of those girls. They're just not..."real". They won't take you anywhere.

Look at the models on that page...

But listen....if you are happy seeking a career through this agency (and i wish you the best of luck, I truly do, you seem so sweet) then just...keep your options open. If you're in school, don't quit to focus on your career. Seriously. Stay in school, let this be a hobby. Because if we're being honest, it most likely will not take you very far at all. (Though I wish it will, and best of luck to you)

Not usually -- always.

Why sugar coat it? Even if your face is amazing, you will never do runway (at least, real runway).

Who doesn't do runway, or editorials with other models due to her height.

Edit: read back a bit on this thread and clearly OP has a different idea of "model" (girls who wish they were models...?) so nvm. Carry on. :run:

I believe Emily Ratajkowski is waay shorter than 5'7, probably 5'5, but I doubt that's the kind of modelling girls on this forum want to do
I don't think there is any place on the runway\HF in general for a girl shorter than 5'9, I know there are exceptions but unless you have connections (Cara) you're not going anywhere. As much as I love models I never wanted to be one, but I can totally imagine the struggle of a girl who is my height who wants to model! I guess you just have to open your eyes and accept the truth, modelling is not for everyone and there isn't anything you can do about it, live your life the best you can and don't lose your time trying to persuade a career that just isn't suited for you.

For some reason I always associate Emily Ratajkowski as a porn star. It usually takes me a couple of seconds to remember that she's a "model". I wish I was tall enough to model, ha-ha! Oh well, damn you lucky tall skinny girls!

Oh god.. they don't.. discriminate much, do they? What a bunch of wankers, creating this bullshit agency to fleece the vain and desperate of their cash. I mean ffs, it clearly doesn't take much talent beyond a radial pulse and some evidence of consciousness to get signed up, but I bet it sure costs these 'models' a hell of a lot for these awful test shoots!

Consider Example A; I think these were taken during an earthquake...

OP is this you? http://www.adoramodelmanagement.co.uk/models/female/amber-sophia-lees-19380/

As others have pointed out high fashion for someone of your height is unattainable, so aim for the right market for your look, do some research, and go find yourself a professional real commercial modelling agency. The awkward posing and camera angles of that shoot do you no favours, but as you continue to lose weight your figure will improve, and meanwhile you should learn how to pose your body and your face to best present yourself. It's like you're hiding your face in those, yet dem cheekbones are your strongest point.

Go get some professional advice. Maybe you could get some regular catalogue work, such as for department stores - it's not glamour and catwalks, but money & work is a wonderful thing, and this is a much more realistic goal to work towards. Be inspired by high fashion and the lives & bodies of catwalk queens, but chase the right goal for your life. Your face is a damn sight prettier than those I see on my junk mail catalogues, and those girls got paid for their posing.
