Ladies, I've realised all my clothes are old and crap and I need to do shopping. I went around some places yesterday and just hate the styles at the moment (round/polo necks, military/urban gear with straps everywhere, diamante sparkles, strange transparent bits, ponchos... Christ). I'm having a clothes crisis and don't know what to wear.

Post the last garments and accessories that you bought or the ones you plan to buy next (ie specific brand and item, not a general 'white shirt' or whatever). Pics/links would be super-helpful. I'm really in need :D.

I get all my basics from Joe Fresh in Canada. They're "fast fashion" but the quality is really good and they have consistent fit.

I heard Uniqlo is really good and it ships to the uk (where your profile says you're from)

I like wearing a lot of black so I got myself a black and white purse "minimalist" purse by a local designer. Too lazy to take a picture, but this Neiman Markus one follows the same concept:

Our styles are quite different but I think this is a fun thread so hi ;)

I can't find the exact ones but I got boots very similar to these from Topshop, they were from their "cheaper" line so they're not real leather but for me that works perfectly. These are their nicer-quality sisterfrands:

I'm also in the process of calling the stores close to me to see if they have this coat, and ordering it otherwise :luv:

Aaand as long as we're being honest I'm not into spending lots of money on things like jeans and shirts as long as I'm losing weight, so I went to Forever21 and got some sweaters and a couple pairs of plain black leggings. Can't find them on the website but they were all black haha

I've just ordered this:

No brand really that I know of, it's from a small 2nd hand shop. I'm actually quite excited about it, I can't wait to try it on :hyper: I just hope it will fit...

I have a love affair with Zara especially, and Massimo Dutti. I bought these lately:

This sweater I have in all the colours, even though they only have 2 on the site (teal, deep red, mustard, black, grey, sand): http://www.zara.com/ba/en/woman/knitwear/sweaters/oversized-v-neck-sweater-c498028p2008007.html
It's super comfortable, good composition, great for layering. I love tucking these big sweaters in the front of my pants and jeans, and it was an offer so they were quite cheap

I agree with @Andrea, Zara is one of my favorite stores for nice pieces.
I recently bought these tight skinny leggings, a knit sweater and a camel colored cable knit scarf. That right there can be one outfit our you can mix and match older pieces. I'm very into simplicity with 1 piece that stands out (ex: today I'm wearing black skinnies with a zipper on the sides @ the bottom, a faded white tee shirt, and leopard flats). Its more about finding things you can wear with other things that are already in your closet. I also love the color black so I'm always buying black stuff. Black and black always match. Cant go wrong there.

I'm really into vests, "capes" and shawls right now. I just recently bought a black knit shawl and have been getting compliments left & right:)
Forever 21 has a ton if you are looking for something on the affordable side.

Also, you really can't go wrong with a textured knit sweater. These are everywhere right now. These, paired with skinnies and either boots or flats is a simple, but put together look. Speaking of boots, I'm also into the short bootie right now (but since its almost winter I'm not sure how much longer I will wear them).

Just an idea of some outfits

Thank you so much guys, this has actually been even more productive than I expected. Looking at your ideas makes me see what a terrible rut I'm in with clothes. I have really rigid ideas about the kind of stuff I wear and over time they've just become completely restrictive. Basically all my outfits are the same and I don't even like them any more - I just wear them because that's what I feel comfortable in. If something wears out I'll even just go and buy something identical without looking at anything else or asking if I still want to wear it. It's been really helpful to see what you all are wearing and just realise my style needs to evolve. And yes, I'd actually forgotten about all the shops you mention - that's been really useful too.

Thanks :luvluv:

I agree with the Zara love! @Andrea I love those slouchy leather pants. With a little plain pointy black heel and a loose top where you can see that skinny collarbone :luv: :naughty:

Where did you get your cape/knitted shawl things other than Forever21?
Also, the leggings you got from Zara, are they leggings or thick stretchy trousers that can be worn with short tops?
And I agree about Zara, they do great things on the affordable side. I once got a sweater from there for £5 which I didn't wear for like a year and now I practically live in it. It's kind of big but it's just so comfy. I feel so chic in it. I love it so much!! I always get a ton of compliments on it too. And looks expensive too :). Also am a big fan of their shoes. But, with Zara 50% is brilliant and 50% can be absolute poor rubbish so look carefully. Also, if you get the stuff delivered its packed nicely and seems to be much nicer than stuff sold in the stores.

My additions:
Leather pants: I just ordered this in size 24, the reviews say it runs small so I'm really hoping it does and love the fact they're not leggings. Will never understand the leggings trend. But apparently the Helmut Lang ones are all the rave but heard they run big and not to mention incredibly expensive. So I got these instead, never tried the brand before and since they're cheap, I just had to buy so hopefully they will be nice. Waiting for the day they arrive :hyper:.

Biker Boots - I think these must be my 5th or 6th pair. The rest all didn't last long. I had my first one from Office shoes, really lovely, inexpensive and they lasted I think for good three years but they don't have any similar, the ones they make these days are like every cheap biker boot out there. Also every single one tends to have gold buckles which annoy me since I wear silver/white gold. Then I got some Kurt Geiger ones, (I think twice from there), Asos ones, Jimmy Choo and they all lasted less than a year. So I really hope these last. I'm getting sick of replacing them. I have a few shoes from R&B so I'm hoping the quality match up.

Cashmere sweater in camel colour from Ralph Lauren - they run slightly big but they're so comfy and I couldn't find this colour anywhere so had to pick mine up.
http://www.ralphlauren.co.uk/product/index.jsp?productId=34810591&cp=3979771.3989731.4047471

Cashmere sweater from Club Monaco - I saw this in Harvey Nichols the other day and just could not resist buying it there and then. It has fur on the sleeves. And now my sister wants one haha.
http://www.clubmonaco.com/product/index.jsp?productId=34908536&prodFindSrc=paramNav

And this Burberry coat. My other black coats are longer so thought I needed a new one on the shorter side. Got it sent home so I haven't seen it live so hopefully it's worth it

I'm debating whether to get this or not. I've been eyeing it online and decided against it since it's acrylic but then I saw it live and it looks really nice. But the material is still putting me off so we'll see.

Oh and i just ordered these - not strictly winter but I'm really into tank/bodycon dresses to wear on their own for the summer. Since this was only £7 I just ordered it, still waiting for it to arrive. It does have buttons going down which I'm not too keen on. But hoping it still looks good (and not see through).

I am on the hunt for infinity scarves in black, navy and maybe camel colours. So far the ones I've seen look really cheap/too expensive or not quite right.

@classichic I found mine at forever 21. It looks almost identical to OP's except it goes a little longer in the arm area and it doesn't have a baggy neck area, its just a regular scoop neck. I like it because I wear a cute cardigan underneath and the pattern of the cardigan peeks through at the top. Its really nice. I will try to take a picture when I wear it next.
Here is the link for the one specifically I bought: http://www.forever21.com/Product/Pr...egory=sweater&ProductID=2000083875&VariantID=

To be honest, mine looks NOTHING like the one the girl is wearing. I think its because I bought it a little larger so its super long and baggier. I also wear it so the corner part is in the middle (if that makes sense?). I may have even got a small and its just pretty baggy. Looks nothing like the one from that link. I absolutely love it though! Its nice because it adds a lot of warmth and I am always so cold.

Thanks even if it does look like the one in the pick, it looks really nice. I might have to order one. Can I ask if your leggings from zara are actual leggings leggings or stretchy pants?

Oops, sorry.. meant to answer that (got carried away with the shawl talk, haha). My leggings from Zara are more like stretchy pants, but with no pockets or belt loops or anything.. Just like really tight stretchy pants in legging form. They have a texture to them.. so they aren't just yoga pant material or anything. Probably something I can wear to work with boots. I bought them mid September on sale for around $25 in store. Hope that helps!

It might be these but I'm not sure? For some reason I thought the original price was like, 30 or 40.. but these are the closest I could find:)

oh I see. I though you might have gotten thick stretchy pants or something but I found something similar online today so I might get that instead since I'm not brave enough to wear leggings.

I just got this dress by Karl in an xs, because it was the last one in an outnet sale and it was half price. The colour is really pretty and it moves nicely but it's a little loose already, and I'm debating sending it back.

I just bought quiiiiiiite a few of these outfits and a purse really similar to @Butternut's. Thank you so much girls, I'm looking a lot less er, challenged these days. :D

How did these fit if they arrived yet? I've been looking for (fake) leather trousers but they've always arrived cheap looking or big

They're arrived but I haven't tried them on yet. I will try them on next week and let you know. You could try Zara and Zara Trf . I got this great pair from there last year. it's kind of like leggings but thicker with a stretch but I shrank them down though with a couple of washes.

I just ordered some Dior stilettos and am so scared that they won't look right. I am horrible at shopping. I never like what I order and when I am in the store I only want the wildest stilettos or some asinine Victorian velvet cape.

The only thing I have ever ordered that was as perfect as I could have ever conceived: Acne Studios jeans! The regular inseam is about 33" and tall is 35.5"!

just ordered a beautiful balmain wool coat. it was on sale, i hope so much it will fit :shy:
