Girls, I need your help I'm looking to update my watch. But I have no idea what to buy. Which watch do you wear? Any watches you like/want? Which brands are good? Which ones should I avoid?
Please post pictures so I can get an idea.
Thanks.

I wear a Michael Kors rose gold watch and adore it. So perfect for almost any outfit! I get compliments on it all of the time.

I have a cheap little yellow swatch but I love it lots! It's very bright.

I have a Raymond Weil Tango as my everday watch:

I'll wear my husband's old Tag Heuer Aquaracer as an occasional watch:

Then a Rolex Yactmaster as an occasional/dress to impress watch:

I'd say, figure out what you want in terms of:
- Budget
- Versatility (Everyday vs. Dress vs. Business)
- Dependability (Winding vs. Self-Winding/Automatic vs. Battery)

Once you've got that it should narrow down options well. Then it's all about aesthetics.
Brands with good reliability/maintenance in addition to the ones I own: Seiko, Timex, Citizen, Tissot
Brands with relatively poor reliability IME: Cartier (hate to say it, they're beautiful watches), Movado

I like Skagen watches. I've had one for 4 years now, I wear it almost every day and it looks like it's still new. Besides, the bracelet is a bit more delicate than other brands, I would say.

If you need to get a watch, get one of the really nice ones - like that Michael Kors one. Those I don't mind so much.

(I have a weird watch phobia lol - I can't stand them, expecially the timex/digital ones. I honestly have no idea why, but they totally distract and disgust me.:nervous:)

But obviously get whatever one you like best that you enjoy wearing - I'm obviously a bad one to give advice on this subject.

I love all these watches. Thanks for posting, I'm now even more confused.

This is where I'm confused.
Budget: I don't have one. I have some really nice classic watches from high end brands (Rolex, Longines, Dior) passed down from my mum but I always bang my arms about so I want to avoid ruining these just because these are more sentimental value. I also have some low end brands. However, all these watches have a slightly small face. They're not masculine/fashionable type if you get what I mean. Ideally I would like a high end one but they either have a small face or they've got diamonds and stuff which is just too glam for me.
I was thinking of getting either a Burberry or Michael Kors which normally I avoid (especially MIchael KOrs). I liked the MK when they first came out but everyone had them so I just left it. Then I was leaning towards Burberry. Then I heard they're made by fossil so I looked into that but the fossil watches also have small faces and they're actually a bit boring just like the watches I already own. So I thought it makes more economic sense to get Michael Kors just because they're a teeny tiny cheaper than Burberry. Then I looked into Marc Jacobs. They're kind of nice too. I think they may also be made by fossil. And. Maybe DKNY.
I want an everyday watch. Something I can wear at uni.
I would like a silver bracelet watch similar to that above rose gold Michael Kors watch posted but I want mine in silver.

My main concern is I don't want to be like I'm following trends because I know MK watches are in right now. But I can't help it I do actually like them and they're really cheap. But if they're made poorly or whatever I won't buy.
So out of MK, Burberry, DKNY, Marc JAcob. Which one is better to buy? Which brand is more prestigious?
Any other brand suggestion? Preferably under £5000. But without diamonds and crystals and all that. For a silver bracelet.

P.s. I always thought Cartier watches were good. I so wanted Cartier to make a similar watch to MK but they don't just because I thought the brand was good and in my budget.

I love Cartier watches also! I had been planning to buy the Tank Francaise in medium size, but I went a little crazy and bought a Rolex Datejust instead :p

I would like to kindly suggest perhaps checking out Movado watches if you like a minimalist look and clean lines. You mentioned you would like a watch that looks like a bracelet, and I've seen a few pretty ones from Movado! I have the one in the first picture, and it's definitely an elegant looking watch.

Those are lovely. I definitely prefer the first one. Unfortunately, I have number of watches very similar to these back home. Anyhoo I ordered an omega watch this morning and am planning on getting either MK, DKNY, Burberry or Marc Jacobs watch for uni. Just need to figure out which one. :)

This Larsson and Jennings black and gold watch is my new "must have"

I also like a bunch of Daniel Wellington pieces, specifically this one

Plain and so chic. I love them both :luv:

Ok so the MK and DKNY watches don't fit my wrist. I brought the MK first, the lady makes you pay first before she takes out the links. Then she took out all the links she could but it was sliding off my wrist and she said that's the max she could take out. So I went to DKNY but same problem.
I really want a silver bracelet watch :(

@classichic How do you deal with the size of watches such as above and mentioned?
I want a chic watch to wear everyday so today I went to the jeweller. He suggested a few rectangular watches but they were too plain for my taste. Other than that he couldn't help me because most watches were way too big for my arm (not speaking about the bracelet but the size of the face of the watch).

I really like Hamilton watches, does anyone own one? And I love the style of the Cartier Tank watch but I just can't afford them. Does anyone know a similar but not too plain rectangular watch?

Am afraid you have to get the high end ones, those ones can be altered more correctly according to the size rather than just look and take out links.

I love the two that @weirdabalooza posted.

I have a black Chanel watch which serves me well. The older ones are wind-up but the more recent ones are self-winding. You can also get them without any diamond chips in the face, making it more appropriate for day wear. I would have preferred mine without them as it's a bit more bling than my usual but I got mine as a present.
