Skinny approved labels

For us, we can have a hard time finding something fitted. Getting glares when we ask for the smallest size yet the one you tried on was

I was thinking we could do an official thread of labels/designers/etc that come in small sizes (REAL small sizes, non of this vanity bullshit sizing.) Brands from all over the world. Tops, Pants, Bras, Lingerie. Of course some of us do have different bone structure, lets say two girls that are noticeably model skinny, one might just not be able to fit into a pair a pants that the other can. Also height plays a factor in it as well. For me, and other relatively taller skinnies, it's sometimes impossible to find something small enough yet long enough for our arms/legs. Small sizes generally target shorter women.

I have googled a few and some of these I wear:

American Apparel
Asos
Lulu Lemon
Uniqlo
Alexander Wang
Theyskens' Theory
Urban Outfitters (bras + panties are great)
Jeans:
Citizens of Humanity
Rag & Bone jeans
American Eagle (Jeans.. depends on the cut. I once tried on the smallest 'Jeggings" and they nearly fell off  This brand is great though because it comes in 4 different lengths! I think the regular Skinny in XS/XXS fits well.. and it has a slight stretch so it is comfortable to move around in.. stiff jeans espically in warm weather? no thanks.)
J Brand
Diesel

I'm blanking on everything else

Thanks for starting this thread, such a great idea!

Jeans: (brands that I don't think have been mentioned)
DL 1961
Robin's Jean - the wing detail can be a bit much on some of their styles
True Religion - I've never worn any of their jeans...but have a few pairs of their stretchy black pants that resemble leggings, but way thicker - love them!
Genetic Denim - Love their super soft black jeans.

I'm a big fan of Joe's, AG, & J Brand too.

Tops: They are always hit or miss for me, especially long sleeve b/c they end up being too short on my arms. I tend not to spend a huge amount of money on tops. I don't have any great suggestions here :hmm:

Dresses:
Alice & Olivia (depends on the dress, but I've had some luck - unlike with their pants)
French Connection (hit or miss - their cotton stretch dresses in XS tend to accuentuate my waist)
Guess by Marciano

I'm leaving out the high-end brands b/c with almost every one of those sizing isn't a problem.

Most of my favorite things I have tailored so they fit perfectly. I never saw the value in this until I started doing it and everyone was commenting on the fit of my clothes...which before were always baggy. I highly recommend this for pieces you love that will last several years.

^Thanks!

I have a question for any tall skinny girls out there...
Where can I find shirts that are wide at the shoulders, but tight at the body?

A lot of brands XS/S clothing just seems to be made for "smaller" chubby people, so their shirts are short, tight and the shoulders, and very baggy all over :hmm:

How tall were they? o.o
Cause this is my small...

I'm having trouble seeing someone larger than me fit an XS 0_0

Oh they were all really kind of short and hipless. Idk you know the girls who can wear sizes smaller than you even though they're bigger? They're all girls like that.

But like when I'm working and I ask them what size they need and they say like 0 or 2 I have to try SO hard to not look them up and down and just say "really?"
I don't get it!

 I know a couple of girls with REALLY chunky thighs who model because somehow their hips are still 35 :wtf:

Does anybody know how Nicole Farhi coats are in size? I'm looking at a secondhand coat and from their current size chart they seem... generous.

 - I also doubt at this point that she fits into a size 0 or 2 that isn't extremely vanity sized if at all

Speaking of this, a chunky-thighied model I know who used to be very successful where I live is no longer on my agency's website...
I wonder why?

I mean lots of girls squeeze themselves into a size that doesn't fit them because they don't want to come to terms with how big they really are. It's not a matter of fit, it's just whether you're able to get yourself into it.

H & M tends to run a tad smaller, but only in their pants and jeans.

Yup I was just about to mention h&m when I saw this thread
Their skirts and some of their dresses now too. A 10 is an 8 , a 6 a 4 etc

Everything else I can think of had been mentioned

for jeans: madewell has a pretty legit size 24, i've noticed. more so than a lot of brands. current / elliott has run large in my experience. j brand fits true to size, but has been tight on my calves (which are huge). rag and bone is absolutely perfect. :luvluv:

regarding h&m, I've found that the sizes at their new store in Melbourne seem to be quite big, things labelled as AU size 4 were more like an 8.... all I can think is that they either just assumed all australians are fat or they got the australian sizing wrong

They run big in Europe too. I'm merely slender and I swim in their smallest sizes!

Do any of you girls know how accurate Loft bottoms are? I bought a bunch of 00 pants that fit me well, so I feel they can't be real 00s, because my thighs are still massive. I couldn't even feel good about them, because I just do not believe it.

Size 000 jeans

I don't know where to ask this so I'll just put it here. I just found that Abercrombie does size 000 jeans which is equivalent to size 23. I'm a fan of hollister 00 jeans for me they're the smallest jeans I know. So am asking if anyone has tried the 000 jeans and if they're good for skinnies? If they run larger or the same as hollister 00 jeans?

Does any other stores do triple zero sizes?

I find Zara tops come up quite large. Topshop is a good place for small sizes I find, at least in the UK. Their petite section does a lot of UK size 4s (US 0) and there's a fair few size 6s across all the ranges too. They also do 24w jeans and I find most other highstreet stores only go down to 25w.

I actually think Topshop is quite big. They vary a lot in some of the clothing and their bottoms are big. Try uniqlo, they're smaller than Topshop :) For high end stuff try J brand but personally I find J brand pretty big.

This is so good to know, because my Hollister 23's are a tad big on me so if these 000 fit smaller I would definitely be interested. I'll have to go check them out. Thanks for the info!!
