Skinny approved labels

A couple months ago I bought a pair of Skargorn jeans at Madewell and they are my tightest pair. I'm not super skinny right now but I would say these jeans are pretty small--at my stats, I wear a size 26 in them (although my waist measurements are pretty gross). They're much smaller than the regular Madewell jeans (not made well at all).

I'm 5'9" and their kids stuff is a little big on me! I don't know what that says about me and/ or the sizing there... :nervous: but I'd look at it for sure! The kids stuff is so cute and cheap!

I would love to be able to wear their kids sweaters...I'm really only taller than I was at 14 and probably thinner. Did you not have problems with your height in the kids clothing?

Not that I noticed! I bought a dress that was supposed to be around knee length, and it's maybe an inch or two shorter than it's supposed to be? The only time I can see height being a problem is if you bought a short dress or shorts? But other than that I think it'll be fine!

I know j brand has been mentioned before but if nobody has said rag & bone jeans yet they've been the best fit I've found so far! I have wide hips, small butt and thin legs and they don't give me the sag at all.

Too big:
Rag & Bone
Citizens of Humanity
Alexander Wang
Lucky

24s that stress me out:
J Brand
American Apparel
All Saints
Lulu lemon (2)
Buffalo

I worked in Zara for a long time and their smallest sizes fit most of the models we'd have coming to the store (there are lots that did where I worked). The dresses and things fit a bit big but if you go into the Trf line (trafaluc) everything is sized even smaller so you can definitely find things there!

I also used to work in Benetton, and even though the ladies' clothes were made for dumpy baby-factory fatties with no waist and huge hips I got some really cute skirts (lots of plaid) in the girls' section!

Does zara have size 0? I ordered the skort in xs and it's so loose around the waist it's crazy. I'm not sure how I'm going to wear it since I still have a lot to lose. And I see all these bloggers with the skort and it's NOT falling off them and I don't understand how they styled it :hmm:

I think it's supposed to sit at the hips, no?
I do agree it looks really awkward though S:

Well I guess I could pull it really far down (a la 90s rap artists) but then it looks so awkward. But yes I didn't exactly mean "waist" but where it's meant to sit. I always have to pull my other zara pants up too coz the waist/hip area slides (even with a belt), so size 2 can't really be the smallest size... :hmm:

The skort fits HUGE, like it's not even funny, it's the most vanity of vanity sized that we had to start recommending a tailor near our store for people who were too small for the xs (which is basically a s/m) to get the waist taken in. My guess is though that the bloggers are just a lot bigger than they seem, the size of it makes everyone look a lot slimmer.

Oh and there's only really a proper size 0 in the trf line, the other ones do offer a 0 but it's significantly bigger than the trf 0, we used to tell customers that we had to size up twice to fit into trf so they would buy things and not feel like shit about having to buy something that exposed their actual size and not the one that made them feel good about themselves.

Does anyone know about Tommy Hilfiger? I've just seen a shirt from there that i love but I'm not sure how their sizings come up.

How about Mango? I've never bought anything from there before and I'm looking at some smart trousers.

Isn't trf the cheaper line too? Double win :highfive:
Is the size zero available online? The smallest size I see is xs or a size 2.

now I'm so curious, could you post a link or picture of this?

I checked the size of mine and it's a small :nervous:
I feel like a hippo now...

I'm quite a bit shorter than you and my hips are "smallish" even when I'm fat. I store my weight in my thighs so I have a looooooot to lose. Don't feel bad. :)

@misscat any idea what the kid sizes are like? Like is the largest kids size equivalent to the smallest adult size? I'm trying to online shop but I don't trust their sizing guide haha.

omg I'm sorry I didn't tell you earlier! I don't know much of the kids stuff but I know that it's supposed to be sized up to like 13/14 year olds? I remember when I was a size 14 kids I was a 0-2 in ladies so maybe use that guideline? Check sizing charts too and remember that skirts can alwaaaays be shorter ;)

Idk how I could do that, it's just a funny piece, I never really liked it for me so I never tried it but girls i worked with who were "wearing" a 2 but really needed a 6 were able to buy an xs in the skort and actually have it fitting them rather than the struggle they had with their other xs sized clothes.

It is cheaper! And there is a 00 in some of the jeans in the stores (my store had them, they were actually minuscule), but the 2 is a lot smaller than the average 2 in the other jeans in woman or basic sections.

How tall were they? o.o
Cause this is my small...

I'm having trouble seeing someone larger than me fit an XS 0_0
