There are still a few movies that I need to see, so it's too early for me to make personal predictions. What about everyone else? And feel free to add any other categories. :)

I love the academies too! Some of my fave categories

Best Original Score
Dario Marianelli for Anna Karenina (this has got to win. I loved the score so much)
Alexandre Desplat for Argo
Mychael Danna for Life of Pi
John Williams for Lincoln
Thomas Newman for Skyfall

Costume Design
Jacqueline Durran for Anna Karenin
Paco Delgado fir Les Mis
Johanna Jonston for Les Mis
Eiko Ishioka (RIP) for Mirror Mirror
Colleen Atwood for Snow White and the Huntsman

If Hugh Jackman wins best actor, I'm gonna kill someone. His Valjean was awful... just... no!

Colleen Atwood for Snow White and the Huntsman

Whoops, it was Joanna Johnston for Lincoln

I yet have to see "The Impossible", so I can't judge based on this movie, but hands down Naomi Watts is one of the best actresses out there and her winning an oscar is overdue (her performance in Mulholland Dr. and 21 Grams is marvelous)...

Seriously? JL won the Oscar for best actress? SERIOUSLY?!

It should have been Chastain or Riva... The Academy screwed up. It's not even Jennifer's best. I mean seriously? She's so hyped.

Ugh.
Ugh.
Ugh.

Yes I saw SLP and while JL was good I didn't think it was best actress material!

I loved Daniel Day Lewis, best of all time. Also the award for Waltz. :luv:
And the performance of Goldfinger - wow. Adele's Skyfall was so damn boring compared to Dame Shirley. :wtf:

Dress wise - nothing remarkable.

I had never seen a Striesand performance before tonight, but wow. She made it look so freakin' effortless. Lea Michelle can gtfo.

Loved Daniel Day Lewis's acceptance speech, he was super adorable, dorky and totally deserved it. Ben Affleck was really freakin' the hell the out, but it was sweet. I haven't seen silver linings playbook, but I felt really bad for JLaw tripping and falling up the steps. I heard her dress ripped at some other awards show, so apparently she just can't cut a break.

The award that bugged me the most was Christoph Waltz for Django. I love him, and I loved him in Inglorious Basterds, and I love Tarantino in general but I really thought Leonardo DiCaprio was 70000000000x better than him that movie. I don't get why he wasn't at least nominated.

How did Argo win Best Picture? Seriously.

And Ben... chill! :nervous: He was going nuts onstage.

I liked the movie till the Awards. Seriously? It was so political it made me gag. And they asked Mrs Obama to say who's the winner. Yup.

Thank you! I think Skyfall is one of the worst Bond songs, boring and forgettable. And yet, everyone loves it.

I loved Meryl Streep when she was reading the winner. Like she didn't even have to look :)

I was surprised why DiCaprio wasn't nominated. I hated his character so much in the movie - he must have done something right ;)
Waltz was great too, but diCaprio was brilliant. And I though Robert De Niro outshined him in SLP

Haha YES his speech was just... :run:

I actually loved Argo, but imo Lincoln and Amour were better.
