Anyone else love this show as much as I do?

I think it's a combination of morbid curiosity and then actual happiness for the contestants when they do succeed. I'm also super excited that Jillian is back. The past few season have been pretty lame, and I think it's because without her the contestants were allowed to be whiny and dramatic rather than focused and awesome.

I'm a little concerned that this season is going to have kids instead of adults and worried that it might just be too intense for them. I want to cry in a good way, not because I feel like some poor kid being bullied by Jillian.

:O !!! Yaaaay!! I watch it cause it makes me so happy to see the fatties get fit. Any weightloss is better than none when you are just that fat. But kids?? I dont know if jillian wil make them cry for fun now... Hmm. Thanks for update though :D

I've never really followed it at all but I know the layout of the show and how Jillian can act.
I was actually pretty happy to see the new season is going to feature obese teenagers.
Weight and teenagers being in the same sentence is always a touchy subject for people, and I hope the TV audience/general public doesn’t go on a uproar because of it. Yes, we don’t want them to develop an ED or anything that drastic, but if we can teach kids out there to make healthy choices and to be active (despite their parents habits) then I think this show can have a positive effect on many.
Also I’m sure Jillian will be more sensitive to her audience now that she is dealing with more delicate/complex young people.

ooh sounds interesting. I love watching shows like this, it makes me think maybe the obesity problem could change and get better. I'm going to go look this up on youtube now..

this show is addictive!

Same here, everyone knows the older you get the harder it is to change bad habits, and come on, this is a mainstream show, they are not going to be teaching teens to restrict to 500 cals a day or something (obviously) I think its a good idea to get teenagers thinking about these things while they still have that young metabolism.

So I've finally caught up on the last few episodes, and I'm really liking how they're fitting the teenagers into the show. Lots of encouragement and support without the yelling and vomit-inducing workouts the adults get. And they get to be sort of mascots for each of the teams. Plus, the kids they picked just seem really sweet and nice. I'm routing for Sunny.

As for the adults--ugh, I'm already sick of the whining.

Does anyone have any idea how many calories they eat? The show puts so much focus on the workouts and the nutritional content of food, but I've never seen anyone say how much exactly they eat. With all of the working out, I've got to think it's fairly high, but maybe not. I wonder if they ever get super hungry and if that's really hard for some people who just really don't know what it's like to be hungry.

It depends on the person but one of the smallest girls said once that 1600 was her intake in a past season.
And they eat back most of there exercise calories. D:

The show just came back this week! Has anyone seen it? I guess they are all former athletes. They have new trainers too.

I wish this show would focus more on what they eat, like supersize vs superskinny does. Weight loss is not mostly about exercise, despite what they want to make people believe...

Sometimes when I run on the treadmill and I decide to "hang on" I'm always reminded of Jillian yelling at constants for doing that! :D This season has kids? I've heard the show is tough on some adults... It will be interesting to find out how the kids survive!
