ugg boots

I have the crocheted ones (I think they are called "cardies") which I think are better looking than the regular ones and they are perfect for late night errands. I like to do my grocery shopping at the 24 hr stores in the wee hours of the night so I like to wear thick leggings or sweats with them. Nice and cozy! I dont think they look good most of the time though, and they are terrible for wet weather! They are basically in my "leave me alone...I just want to be comfortable" attire.

Ugg boots are like track pants or crocs, I feel like the day I buy them will be the day I lose any sense of self-respect.

Totally agree!, my eyes bleed every time I see these boots...

AHHHHHHH I DESPISE UGGS DEEPLY
Every girl at school wears them almost every day. I often see people wearing huge clunky uggs with huge clunky sweatpants.
ABOMINABLE.

I have the crochet ones in brown, but I wear them very rarely (and only for a trip to supermarket). They don't look good, but their only advantage is being comfortable. I prefer beauty over comfort 99% of the time, so apart from special circumstances (e.g. tired, ill, feeling ugly and depressed together), they just stay in my closet, hidden from the view. I'd never buy crocs though- wearing them is the ultimate sign that a) you don't care about fashion b) you're probably lonely, miserable, depressed and given up on life c) they're usually followed by a week-old greasy pizza stains on sweatpants, delivery food with beer, football and being 50 kilos overweight. No, thanks. I'm happy with high heels.

I know I said I despised them, but I actually bought a pair in NY last month because I was freezing cold.

They're actually PERFECT for cold winters, extremely cozy, even if they're an eyesore of a shoe. Not planning on wearing them anywhere else than home as slippers, the grocery store or to walk my dog at the park though. And if I wear them in public I'd better go during a desert hour.

And definitely not paired with sweats that say "JUICY" across the butt...

UGGS + JUICY SWEATS = OFFICIAL UNKNOWLEDGABLE FASHIONISTA UNIFORM

EDIT: I guess they wouldn't look so uggly if they were worn the way they are supposed to, like in the ad campaigns

The campaign makes uggs look acceptable but most of them are with bare legs, with shorts or at the beach which makes the legs look longer (also they're models). This makes no sense to me because I wouldn't wear uggs to the beach or with shorts, surely if I could wear shorts then I wouldn't need something warm for my feet. Most would wear them with jeans, or in freezing weather, when people would be layering perhaps with a thin trousers /tights too thus making them look bigger plus uggs which makes legs look shorter and therefore not a good combination.

Though I hear they are very comfortable I cannot get around to liking them one bit. My mom has a pair..... and she likes to think she is very "hip" wearing them.

I LOVE UGGS :luv:

I'm sorry girls, I just do!!!

Me too. I like them for winter boots, like if you are going to be doing something active because they are really comfy :) and durable - I've had mine for 5 years and they haven't broken or anything - and I used to wear them a lot when I first got them.

I'm absolutely in love with uggs.. I seem to be the only one

I think they're cute, I love how my legs look skinnier in them, and my GOD they're comfortable. During the winter I wear them literally every single day to school. I love wearing skinny jeans, a tight sweater, and tall ugg boots.

Although I have to admit that whenever I see a chubby/overweight girl wearing them I just cringe......:superpuke:

But the moment I get my BMI down to 15-ish I'm buying a couple more pairs :nervous:

i completely agree!!! Something about chubby girls in uggs makes them look chubbier!!
I do find uggs to be comfortable but I need to wear them with socks--I feel like most people don't but I can't wear them without them.
I do think if they're worn with skinny jeans they make legs look skinnier (of course if the girl is actually skinny!)

I hate them with passion, to me they look like a combination of granddaddy slippers and moonboots  I see quite some girls falling flat on their faces in them when there is ice and snow. I feel safe in my Doc Martens and in 15 years I never broke my nose or something else when there is gliding apocalypse on the street.

But yeah, skinny legs look skinnier in them. But they also do in a decent pair of real boots ;)

I love those moonboots. I think they're so cool.
But Ugg boots are not suitable for ice and snow - it's just they're so warm. And yeah I've seen far too many girls fall and slip with their Uggs in winter.

I admit the grandaddy-slipper-element is indeed the worst part about it, not the moonboot ;)

Its funny I'm from Sydney and go to a school with no uniform and literally no one wears them out of the house. I have a pair but its solely for cold winters (we have no tolerance for cold) and wouldn't dare wear them out of the house. I don't think they were ever meant to be a real shoe, hence the weird traditional foam sole and the fact that they're sheepskin. Uggs are not a fashion statement they're a utility item. Ugg Australia (is not australian urgh) doesn't get it.

They are fucking HIDEOUS. I don't understand WHY would anyone wear them outside + pay such a ridiculous amount of money for them
I have a pair I bought for 5 bucks that I wear around the house as slippers (because my Accesorize slipper/booties are falling apart and I need boot-like slippers to tuck my pajamas into, otherwise I'm cold), and I still could not hate them more, even though they are doing a fine job
