Models & Their Polaroids

Awesome thread!
Question for the VIPs or anyone else who might know: can you wear makeup in polaroids? I thought it was strictly bare-faced but I spy some cosmetics in some of these...[/B]

You can wear the basic make up.. i.e.. just what you would wear on a normal day out but nothing too heavy.. if it doesn't look natural they will either ask you to remove it or come back another day without make up or a more natural look. For my Polaroids I came directly from a shoot, the make up was natural but you could tell I had some on, so I just patted my face gently with a face wipe so I looked like I just had a bit of mascara on, but my face wasn't raw red from scrubbing. But I suppose if a model has really bad skin, then maybe a light coverage of tinted moisturiser, but nothing too heavy as clients wouldn't take it too lightly if they ever saw you without it. :)

:highfive:
i have a couple of 'beauty spot' moles under each eye that my booker always tells me to emphasize haha. other than that sometimes some concealer under the eyes as im veryyyy pale. but yeah clients can immediately tell if you are wearing makeup and arent very keen. they arent looking for stunning beauty, but they are seeing what features they can transform. best is to be a blank canvas with interesting features.

My agent says a little concealer and a bit of mascara is good.. but I don't usually wear mascara because I don't really need. I prefer looking more natural in my snaps. But one trick I like to do is take black eyeliner, and tight-line the upper lashes. It looks like you are wearing no makeup, but makes your lash line THAT much darker. Just don't use the eyeliner on the top of your lash line.. it will look unnatural and heavy.

Wow thank you. Great photo example too. I'm a self diagnosed makeup addict and I love the tight line look but it ALWAYS transfers to my bottom waterline so I abstain from doing so:(

Do you know which pics are the most recent? She's a lot bigger in the black t-shirt set.

These polaroids are all really old, from back when she was just starting out in 2007. The black t-shirt set is earlier, and the bikini ones are after she slimmed down a few months later.

I'm not saying they don't look good here, but it's crazy how make up and hair can change someone.

Yes, and weirdly some girls who look totally boring and flaky in their polas are the most breathtaking in their slap  Sometimes I wonder how their agency knew they would ever look half decent...
