Miranda Kerr, Pregnant & Baby Bump

Posted on September 7, 2010 by in Miranda Kerr, Pregnant

After many speculating rumors, Miranda Kerr finally confirmed that she is 4 months pregnant by new husband Orlando Bloom.  I’m very happy for mommy-to-be Miranda, however I’m sad that she is going to be gaining weight – something that always happens to pregnant women, whether it is the normal 25-35 pounds for an average weight or even more.

I wonder what Miranda will be doing to keep off the excess weight…..she totally seems like she is going to be a skinny pregnant woman.  Miranda is very focused on living a healthy lifestyle and I believe that is beneficial, especially while pregnant.

If you watch this video of Miranda talking about her new organic skin care line, KORA Organics, you’ll get to see more of her baby bump:

I’m curious what you guys think about Miranda’s pregnancy.  Do you think she’ll stay on the thinner side while pregnant?  What do you think having a baby is going to do to her career?

I trust Miranda to take care of herself, she’s very wise about her diet. She’ll gain the inevitable lbs which is okay I guess, but it’ll hardly be noticeable, except maybe on her face which is naturally round.
I’m sure that once the baby is born, the weight will fall off her using whatver secrets she’s been hiding all these years to stay thin.
I know she’s a strict vegetarian, but the veg diet is mostly carbs, so I guess she avoids the “grains” part of the diet and just sticks to salads and yoghurts. Isn’t that what Angelina Jolie said recently? I love that womens thinness.

I’ve never been that big a fan of Miranders face shape, buit she is a sweet girl and her discipline is admirable.

miranda is not a strict vegetarian– nor is she a vegetarian.

she just has a very strict/adequate diet.

Just watched the video and I officially want to be her best friend! She’s sooo lovely! I’ve never actually heard of Noni, but I’ll be researching it. If she drinks it, then am interested in learning about its benefits. I’m also interested in the Kora line and hope I can get it somehow in the UK. I’m totally sold on it. I only just started applying green with a squueze of lemon to my skin and its wonderful, brightens it up, but dries it a bit, so have to use an oil free moisturizer afterwards.

And that salad she was preparing, with mushrooms looked sooo yummy! No wonder she’s so tiny!

Miranda’s not going to let herself go. She’s been the most consistently tiny VS girl, and she’s not going to give up her life and career over a pregnancy. She looks amazing in that video – healthy, glowing and vibrant!

Miranda has always been my favorite. She always carries herself so well and I admire how well she takes care of herself. However she seems like shes getting so big already! Not sure how many months she is…. but the real test is how she can melt it off after the baby is born! She always glows though no matter what =). Orlando is a lucky man!

She looks so sweet! With parents like that, the child is going to be super cute.
I know from my own experience (I´m eight months now) that a little weight gain is inevitable, but only a small percentage of those extra pounds are fat.
Some women use their pregnancy as an excuse to let themselves go, but I don´t think Miranda is going to be one of them. She´s always so sensible when it comes too food choices and health, I´m sure she will stay pretty slim during pregnancy and gets skinny after the baby´s there in no time.

I have faith that she’ll continue to take good care of herself & she has age, diet, exercise and consistency on her side.
    Gelabela- I think she’s 5 months?

Thanks for that info! I take back what I said then. I just found out she was pregnant a month or two ago so I thought she was only 1-2 months! She looks great per usual. Love Miranda!

The weight gained during pregnancy isn’t supposed to be fat.

I wish that women would realize that.
Those 25-35 pounds are baby, placenta, amniotic fluid, increased blood volume, uterine enlargement, fluid in maternal tissue, breast enlargement, and water retention.

Women who say that they need to gain a whole bunch of fat when pregnant are just using that as an excuse to eat whatever they want.
    Didn’t Miranda study nutrition?
    She’ll be fine.
I doubt that she’ll get fat.

      That´s exactly what I think.
The weight gain is important, but as you listed it, it´s a lot of other things weighing than fat (I didn´t know all these terms in english, so thanks that you named them)
Aside from the belly, I still look the same as before, though the scale says 12 lbs plus.

Of course Miranda will stay in shape and healthy (many women don´t get that gaining too much during pregnancy is NOT AT ALL healthy) she´s known for being very sensible with her food choices.

Alessandra Ambrosio used to be my favorite Victoria Secret model but not so true anymore. I’m quite taken with Miranda. Her body, personality, and accent is incredible! She looks great for being 4 months pregnant and I can’t wait to see how her baby looks. As if she was looking grand pre-baby, she looks even better now!

Miranda will be fine, I’ll bet that weight comes right off in a few months after the baby is born. There’s absolutely no scientific or health reasons for women to gain a lot of weight during pregnancy. Even the whole “eating for two” is a myth, an unborn baby needs a very small amount! The only thing you need to change in your diet when you become pregnant is to make sure you get a little more calcium and iron than usual. I’m sure Miranda knows all that, though!
In my opinion she is the epitome of skinny health; Thin, toned, glowing and healthy.
@ Fili congratulations!! I’m sure you will be a very yummy mummy :P

I had 2 babies back to back..I have never been thinner, and my stomach has never looked better. Weight gain that comes with pregnancy, as long as its in the healthy range is ok and normal. We are growing a human being..so whats 10 months of extra weight?! We should appreciate beautiful pregnant women and their healthy weight gain.. I now stand 5’10/113lbs

ugh, that is such a relief to hear! I’m 30 wks right now; just had a lecture from my doctor about how I’m supposed to be gaining weight, not trying to lose it. But my baby is growing fine and right on track; healthy as can be. The whole “eating for two” thing pisses me off, it really does.
I’m just tring to gain what’s strictly necessary so that I can get rid of it fast (my husband shakes his head and says he doesn’t know why I go to all the trouble because I’ll be back to normal in two weeks, tops…. I don’t share his confidence, but it’s nice to hear!)

Thank you so much for sharing that Poca, its a relief to know that pregnancy does not equal body disaster.
To be honest, the way a lot of celebrities freak out about their bodies when pregnant, is enough to make yet to be mothers actual hesitate about motherhood. I know its a shallow thought but I’d be lying if I said it never crossed my mind. The good thing is I’m learning great facts about health, like dont eat if you’re not hungry, rather than eating out of habit and once you understand the relationship between food-emotions-overeating, then you start to understand that most times anxiety/exhaustion/thirst/agitation/boredom can easily be translated as hunger and these are the things that make us unknowingly add weight.
