Kate Bosworth Looks Much Better With Her Clothes On

About two weeks ago I did a post on Kate Bosworth in a bikini and I stated that she needed to put her clothes back on because she wasn’t looking so great.  After some reflection and coming across these new photos, I felt that I needed to do a follow-up post.

On Wednesday, Kate attended the Ray-Ban Aviator re-launch event in New York City and she looked gorgeous.  She wore a black outfit and I must admit that she looked perfectly skinny – an opposite thought than I had the other day!

I don’t know what it is, but I think women look so much better with their clothes on.  Clothing can hide areas which you don’t like and leave a lot to the imagination.  A few years ago, with the help of my boyfriend, I learned how to dress to accentuate my body.  I learned how to make my legs look longer, my torso slimmer, etc. – by wearing the appropriate type and color of clothing, accessories and shoes.  These are tips that help me all the time and I’m so thankful I learned them.  We all have had days where we feel bloated and gross and feel so fat we don’t want to go out of the house – I could never survive those days if I had to walk around naked or in a bikini.

Anyway, what do you think of Kate here?  And do you think women look better with their clothes on?

I agree–she does look a lot better with clothes on. Black is slimming, so she should stick to that color until she drops the extra poundage.

Clothes-on is more forgiving (and sexy), and our imaginations think of others better than they are anyway. I think it makes us focus on specific bits instead of the whole. I love how Kate’s outfit hides her figure and makes her hips look small. The proportions are great too. I have a weakness for black jackets with skinny jeans.

I like it when women leave their clothes on =) Especially at parties or out! The number of skinny, gorgeous girls I know who wear the wrong things out and look shorter/fatter or whatever is ridiculous.
That being said, I’m horrible at accentuating good parts and covering bad, Skinny Gurl can you share some of your tips please??

@qwerty, I agree. Kate looks great here, with little hips and legs. I love skinny jeans and am looking looking forward to finding a cute jacket like Kate’s =)

ps: @Skinny Gurl – your boyfriend seriously sounds like the best guy ever! You’re so lucky and totally deserve him =)

You’re telling me! Granted, I feel like that most days – I’m 5’4″ and 108 lbs, so I’m pretty chunky. Any thoughts on what a goal weight should be?

  6. want2bnvied says:

Are you kidding me, D.K. Lindon??? Im 5’2″ and i used to be 108 lbs and i looked like i was starving, or at least eat very little. Weighing that much is not chunky at all and is in fact underweight…attractive, but underweight. appreciate that you can be that thin!! If you saw me now you would probably think i was obese at 120…

  7. Anya says:

@D.K. Lindon — I think about somewhere b/w 90-98 would look good, but you have to exercise a lot to make sure you’re toned because otherwise you’ll just look skinny-fat.. plus, muscle weighs more than fat, so even if you stay 108 but get super-toned you’ll look good.

  8. D.K. Lindon says:

@ want2bnvied – I’m going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you’re one of those rare people who, at 5’2″, really does look better at 120 lbs than 108. You probably have a wider bone structure than I do, which means that you carry weight differently than me. I’m a big believer in the idea that people have different body types, but I have a slight enough frame that “normal” for me would be “skinny” for other people. I don’t know what you look like, of course, but I’m not going to go around calling people obese when I haven’t even seen them.

“Underweight” is a very gross measure of proper body weight anyway. You’re probably talking about BMI, which is very, very crude (and honestly skewed somewhat heavy). BMI is flawed in both directions – really muscular body builders are labeled “obese” by that measure (which is obviously absurd), and otherwise healthy and beautiful skinny girls are labeled “underweight.”

@ Anya – Yeah, that was what I was thinking. Which is good, since 10-15 pounds sounds pretty manageable. And good point on the exercise.

Pretty and skinny- clothes or no clothes.

I think she is generally just gross, ug.
I know this is so random but I’ve only just started watching 90210 (weird now i know im english) But i really thought jessica lowndes was so beautiful until i realized she actually fat, her face does not give that impression. also jessica stroup thinspo – love it. Anyone else agree…? :/

I think she looks great here. Very sexy looking!

  12. I have a soft spot in my heart for this girl because I think she is fairly unhappy yet doing her best to survive Hollywood and a less-than-ideal career. I think she is gorgeous and totally agree with SG that she looks a lot better here than she did in that bikini a couple weeks ago. Of course her fashion & styling choices make a big difference.

So, she looks quite nice here – skinny and gorge – but let’s not get our hopes up. I doubt we’ll ever see her as skinny as she was with Orlando – we know how he is. ;)

I agree with cass and sidney… if you could share some accentuating tips that would be lovely!

I’ve learned a lot just from moving to the city but still need lots of help… here’s the important stuff I’ve learned so far.
-I have short legs so I ALWAYS want to wear heels, no cropped pants but instead skirts (make weistline look taller than it is) above the knee or really short shorts.
-Nude colored shoes and sandals with heels make bare legs look longer.
-I have wide shoulders so I want to wear solid dark colors on the top and patterns/colors on the bottom (or all one color to elongate the body).
-V necks always look better and slim you more than any other cut! This counts for button up shirts that are slightly open. (Only exception is because of my wide shoulders boatnecks look good!)
-Tailored stuff always always looks better than baggy clothes (goes along with buy stuff that actually fits you, too big or too small just looks gross)
-When buying jackets/coats look for those with cinched waist a bit higher than your own or with a belt (esp. thigh length trench coats are really popular here in Japan, think Burberry style)
