Hey girls, anyone out there ever feel like they "don't deserve food"? Not like, you indulged today and you haven't done anything to deserve a treat, but like, you think you're such a worthless person that you don't deserve the nourishment.

Unfortunately, yes. I have been depressed since I was about 12 - 13 and I used to punish myself by not eating (this is if I felt worthless for being fat and ugly) or not letting myself do "fun" things like listen to music and watch TV (this is when I didn't do well on a test or something). Are you diagnosed with depression/take meds or have a therapist? Even though I still struggle with depression and other mental health problems I found that both meds and therapy helped with the "worthless" feeling.

I have suffered from depression since I was in high school and what I found is that whenever I was going through a particularly bad period, or "episode" it wasn't so much me not deserving food, or overeating, but rather it was reflected in the quality of food that I ate. Being very lethargic, eating crap, etc. I took feeling worthless in a very unhealthy manner. But therapy and meds have and continue to help me. Understanding and feeling as though you deserve to be happy is easier said than done, but start small by treating yourself with good food, like fruits and colourful veggies. The better you physically feel will slowly help your mentality as well.
Those are my two cents....long as it may be, lol.
