Elle Fanning Stuffing Her Face With Pizza

June 30th, 2010
Posted by Skinny Gurl

Last week, Elle Fanning was pictured stuffing her face with pizza in Sherman Oaks, CA.  Now if you don’t know who Elle Fanning is (it’s easy to guess), she is Dakota’s younger sister.  She is 12 years old and an up and coming actress just like Dakota was.

Elle Fanning Eating Pizza

Elle was sure stuffing her face full of pizza, it looked as if she couldn’t get enough.  I know we all have stuffed our faces, but who eats like that in public?  We can’t see much of her body, but I sure hope she stops stuffing her face with greasy food if she wants to look anything like her sister.  Plus, greasy foods like pizza aren’t good for your skin.  Lets hope that Elle’s face stuffing with greasy pizza is just a rare occurrence and we happened to catch her.

The metabolism of a pre-teen is different from an adult so I can see why Elle would be “stuffing” her face. Though it barely looks that way. I understand criticizing adults because they should know better but criticizing a 12 year old is pretty unnecessary.

I’m sure most of us have let ourselves go once in awhile. Like during Thanksgiving right?

    • Skinny Gurl says:

@ Nala – I’m not criticizing, I’m just stating the obvious. And I know she is only 12, but being in the public eye and choosing that life for yourself has both positive and negative results. Negative being that they are exposed to criticism from the entire world. And I wasn’t harsh on her at all, I didn’t even go into discussion about her weight.

@ Jaslene – I wish I would have started worrying about my eating choices at 12 years old, instead of thinking it was alright to eat all the junk food that I wanted. Thankfully my eyes were opened and I didn’t end up being a fat cow.

        Hey :)
I’ll start to say that I loooove your blog/website.
The other thing I want to say is:
Please, don’t wish that you have worried about your weight when you was 12. I did, which results in an eating disorder. I’m not saying anything negative about you or Skinny Gossip, but I just want you to have in mind how much you can effect children/teens by your blog. Sorry for my spelling/english, I’m from europe.

        @ Skinny Gurl
I totally agree with you! I wish I started worrying about my eating at 12! Back then I was stuffing my face all the time and so were my friends and I was always really really skinny anyway, the skinniest in school. I got so used to being skinny , ate cheeseburgers milkshakes, fries, choclate every day for years and than one day I woke up and I wasn’t skinny anymore because when you’re 16 your metabolism changes and I had to work my ass of to get back to being skinny. So, I say: start worrying about what you eat early so than you just maintain your thinness through growing up. Because once you lose it, you have to work so hard to get it back.

        • Sabrina Bella says:

I don’t think anyone should “worry” about what they eat – that just causes stress and whole bunch of other stuff, just make smart choices like multigrain bread instead of white, a salad as a side instead of french fries, stuff like that, but you should WORRY about it at such a young age, or really any age! And DEFINITELY do not calorie count at 12 that can only lead to bad things, I swear!

  2. Jaslene says:

Aw she’s only young, she’s not even a teenager yet! She doesn’t need to start worrying about not being skinny enough right now. About her “stuffing her face”…perhaps she was hungry? :D

  3. anna says:

ummmmm. she kind of just looks like a normal kid eating pizza… am i missing something?

  4. Anonymous says:

I don’t think 12 year olds should diet or restrict what they eat because their bodies are still growing at that age. Only overweight 12 year olds should have to worry about losing weight. That said, I agree that it’s never too young to eat more fruits and veggies, and have junk food only occasionally.

This picture reminds me that I just stuffed my face with pizza the other night. I tend to stuff my face with unhealthy food a lot, but I still feel skinny so I don’t care. LOL.

  5. Anonymous says:

Stuffing her face? What exactly is an acceptable manner of eating in public? Should she be ashamed of what she’s eating? Should she be dining on something that’s more socially acceptable for a striving-to-be-thin woman like a salad or nothing at all? And if the alternative is restricting and “good behavior” than that isn’t too healthy either. Frankly, I “stuff my face” (including burgers, steaks, and dessert!) and I weigh under a hundred pounds with a prominent xylophone. There is nothing wrong with what she is eating if it’s once in awhile and she intakes enough fiber and fluids to digest in a healthy manner.

    • Skinny Gurl says:

@ Anonymous – I’d be embarrassed if anyone saw me eating like that in public, but maybe where you come from it is acceptable to eat like a pig in public. And can you read? I said I hoped that her eating pizza was a rare occurrence, meaning once in a while. And yes, I think she should be dining on something more socially acceptable for an actress trying to get roles and make something of herself. Looks might not matter in an ordinary persons world, but they sure do in Hollywood.

      • Allison says:

        She’s 12. 12!

      • Debbie says:

I totally agree with Skinny Girl. STUFFING your face with ANY TYPE of food is disgusting. Eating is about health and sustenance. ‘Stuffing’ your face with junk food is like ramming garbage into a garbage can. Furthermore, people who place themselves in the public eye should expect some ‘public opinion’.

  6. Abbey says:

Um, everyone, I’m not sure if you noticed, but what Skinny Gurl chooses to say is her prerogative. After all, this IS her site… And I agree with her. Maybe Elle, if she is trying to make something of herself in Hollywood, should act more civilized while she’s out and about and get some manners. Jeeze.

  7. Anonymous 1 says:

This is the first Anonymous that posted, not to be confused with the second Anonymous. :/

I feel bad for Elle for having those pictures taken of her. I’d advise her to eat with a fork and knife when there are photographers around.

  8. Victoria N says:

@ To all negative comments- Skinny Gurl is not calling Elle Fanning fat, nor attacking her personally in any way. All she is pointing out is that it is not healthy to eat tons of pizza, no matter what the situation is.

  9. Random Lurker says:

I don’t think you should make posts on 12 year olds. She’s a child, let her eat what she wants. To say she “chose” this lifestyle and the public eye is ignorant. She’s 12 years old, obviously her parents and relation to Dakota has put her where she is.
SkinnyGurl, I love your site, but you have to have some sort of a conscience. This was a horrible and mean post that was totally uncalled for.
This coming from a woman who’s eating disorder started at age 12.

    • Anonymous says:

      I completely agree.

    • Charlie says:

I agree, children of 12 haven’t developed a real sense of social awareness in many respects, so to expect them to act like 21 year old models is a bit ott.

The only thing I find disgusting about these photos is the photographers.

Pizzas are also not that unhealthy, they’re just bread, tomatoes and cheese, especially compared to most things that 12 year olds eat. My diet consisted of pop tarts, mountain dew, cookies and the occasional bit of salami or pizza.

  10. Mouse says:

She is 12! I mean, seriously?

There are way too many eating disorders these days. There is no need for children to worry about their weight, or the way they enjoy their pizza. And 12 y.o. should not worry about her calorie intake, they should not even know – unless they’re overweight what calorie is. And before any of you attack me… When I was a child, most people where I come from didn’t know the notion of calorie and they were much slimmer and healthier than nowadays.

She doesn’t look like a junk food eater, so there is no need to worry about her health, weight or career :)

Btw, I like how the page looks now

  11. audrey says:

She’s just 12. Shes still growing…I know by my own experience, how bad malnoutrition can get…I do not want to imagine how dangerous it is for a body which is still growing. Anorexia is for adults and a twelve year old shouldn’t be bothered, apart from being fat. Dhe can become skinny later on ;)
But to be brutally honest: being anorexic, I have still the same opinion skinny gurl promotes…I think she IS too fat for a twelve year old, especially because I was a toothpick at that age…
But I think she shouldn’t be judged about it, because it takes her right to live her life unharmed.

  12. Jenny says:

This is merely a taste of the criticism she’ll receive if/when she becomes a high-profile actress. I agree in a way; she’s 12 and she’s probably got a metabolism going 150 mph. However, willfully entering into a business that deals in youth & beauty…well, this may be one of the last times she feels comfortable eating pizza.

  13. kiss says:

aw, you know I love this site. but I think this was a little uncalled for… Elle obviously isn’t photographed eating pizza every day, and every child deserves a treat once in a while! and all this talk about ‘breaking into the business’ – she’s fricken twelve! and has been doing it since she was very, very little so it’s obvious her parents have been orchestrating her career from the beginning. who knows if it’s what she wants to do with her life? and remember, this is the only set of pictures of her ‘stuffing her face’ with pizza. let the girl enjoy herself! [:

  14. barb says:

    skinny girl .
i love your site. i visit everyday.
you helped me a lot loosing the pregnancy weight. but there is a limit. don’t post on kids anymore.i was very disapointed when i saw it.stick to adults.we can take it.
    xoxo

  15. EveningMisti says:

Deciding who can and cannot be judged – based on an arbitrary thing like age – is silly. Better to do it based on life stages (puberty, adolescence, adulthood, etc.)

I agree with Skinny Gurl that the time to learn good eating habits is when you’re young – the younger the better. Once you’re older it’s already ingrained and a LOT harder to change.

Anyway, Elle is an ACTRESS. She has been working since she was a baby. She has CHOSEN to be in the public eye – CHOSEN.

Going out and gorging like a pig on pizza – well, it’s not a very good idea for many reasons:

    1. Not very ladylike;
    2. Not very good for her career;
    3. Not very good for her weight;
    4. Not very good for her health.

She’s still a little bit young to be a sex symbol, so she doesn’t yet have to concern herself with what is sexy and what isn’t. But soon she will, and this sure isn’t sexy.

I agree that you can’t shame an AVERAGE 12 year old girl for pigging out on pizza once in a while (once in a GREAT while). But if she wants to be a celebrity she better get used to the job of being in the public eye – and being judged for the decisions she makes.

  16. selena says:

I agree with Skinny Gurl. I hated the fact that I wasn’t very conscious with what I eat when I was younger so I had to be called “fat” by other people. Oh, how I hated that.

  17. Ken Taylor says:

She is growing up to be a beautiful woman and it’s ok to endulge in the foods you like but like some has said she’s only twelve and she has a full life ahead of her. If she worry about what she is eating today, she is going to worry about what she is going to be eating for the rest of her life. You eat your pizza and enjoy life Ms Elle Fanning.

  18. cass says:

Wow, a bit of debate going on here!
When I first got to this post I was a bit apprehensive about what might be said, but I have to say I think Skinny Gurl handled it the right way. She has not commented on Elle’s weight, or anything like that. She has commented on someone eating pizza in public, saying she hopes it is a rare occurance.
Which is the same for everyone, famous or not. Pizza often is not healthy, and we ARE in the middle of an obesity crisis! And for an actress who needs good skin, etc, it’s even more important.
I agree that there shouldn’t be comments on a pre-teen’s weight, but that hasn’t been done here, so I don’t have a problem with it.
    =)

  19. Katie says:

I think there shouldn’t be any posts about children and their eating habits; in this case about Elle ‘stuffing her face’.

I think people should realize that this site is popular amongst teenagers. I’m 17 and I know friends/family that are younger than me who go this website regularly.

They may not post comments but they do keep up to date with ALL the gossip.

For them to see eating pizza [which I regularly do] in that manner they will generally assume it’s bad all together.

I think we should be aware of the things we say, or in this case write, and how this will affect people.

I know I shouldn’t say this but in the UK there’s been an increase of eating disorders by 125%.

I feel that sometimes this site is encouraging behavior that is linked with eating disorders such as starving.

The best thing to do to avoid all of these issues to arise is to do posts of really fat celebs. I like it more than actually thinspo & as it’s more entertaining.

    • chloe says:

i agreed with you until the last part.

since when is bullying people wholehearted fun?

because THAT’S what you are doing.

  20. anyway says:

I personally don’t see anything wrong with the way she is eating

  21. chloe says:

fucking hell she is 12 years old. she still has sleepovers with popcorn and candy and sugar. she doesn’t need to diet until she’s about 16, and maybe she doesn’t have to diet then at all. leave her alone!

  22. Samantha says:

ummmm……k so?????Shes 12 big deal. it dosent even look like she’s “stuffing” herself. she should have to worry about her weight at that age.

  23. SarahC says:

MY god! A 12 year old eating pizza???? The outrage! The Horror!!!

  24. michelle says:

I was counting calories at 12. All my friends were. We still played sports and ran around. I don’t really have an opinion on this post as far as ethics go, just saying that my friends and I jogged and kept up with a food journal at that age. None of us ever had a disorder or anything. 2 of us still touch base with each other on diets 7 years later. I know I’m rambling sorry. Lol. Just saying we all turned out fine.

  25. Kate says:

Elle dances ballet 7 times a week. And she still is “a child” so … But she does have skinny legs, i saw i picture of them recently. Toned, typical for a ballet dancer.

  26. Ireland says:

Honestly she’s a kid. . .Anyone under 14 gets passes from me. That kid metabolism is awesome (wish i still had mine LOL!)

  27. Izzy says:

It doesn’t matter what lifestyle you live, you shouldn’t have to worry about your weight! I mean, shes young! I know that you should watch your weight and prevent breakouts, but really? And maybe she doesn’t want to be like her sister. Maybe she wants to be her own person, let her be. Thats all.

  28. Brooke says:

I think that it is rude to say shes “stuffing” her face with food. first of all why do you care what she eats? shes a kid and can eat what she wants… she doesnt need people like you to judge her…

  29. jasmine says:

I wish you would write more posts about younger celebrities and models. not child stars, but girls age 12-16.

  30. Lena says:

She looks a bit like a piggy in picture 3

  31. Sophie says:

Have you seen recent pictures of her? That pizza caught up with her body. Her calves are HUGE now!!! So sad… Elle is so pretty.
