Baby Food Diet – Day 3

So my third day of the baby food diet was on Thursday (9/23). I originally was planning on doing it just for two days, however I decided to do it for one more since things were going better than I had expected.
I’m very happy I tried the baby food diet and was pretty psyched at my results. My starting weight on the first day was 104.5 and my ending weight the morning after day 3 was 100.5 – for a weight loss total of 4lbs! I learned a lot by trying the baby food diet and now I’m working on coming up with my own plan for us to try in the next few weeks. Here is some more of the food I tried:
- Beech Nut Steam Cooked Mini Meals – Chicken Vegetable Stars
- This was ok, not the best and not the worst baby food. As with the other baby food, this was kind of bland so I gave it some help. I made it edible by adding about a 1/2 Tbsp of onion powder and some salt. I prefer these types of meals to the pureed mush that most baby food is.
- Earth’s Best Organic Veggie Blends – Carrot Tomato
- This wasn’t very yummy at all. I like carrots and tomatoes and was thinking it would taste like a strong tomato soup with a carrot taste, but I was wrong. This just wasn’t my thing.
- Earth’s Best Organic Whole Grain Oatmeal Cereal
- I tried this a few weeks before I started the trial of the baby food diet. I didn’t like it at all. I don’t eat oatmeal on a regular basis – only every once in a great while – so maybe that is part of the reason this wasn’t my thing. It was so bland in taste and the consistency was horrible. I made it warm and didn’t like it, so I added some cinnamon and maple extract, put it in the fridge and waited until it was cold – it was still icky.

Just wondering, why do you eat so late at night and not eat during the morning/day?
Also, I think you should get your bodyfat % tested because you are probably losing a lot of muscle (and water) weight from eating such few calories.. I mean, on days when I exercise for a long time and/or am on my feet all day, I can easily eat 1500 or more kcal and still lose 3-4 pounds.. even when I was 95 lbs I ate around 1000 kcal, so I don’t know, but it sounds to me like you’re not doing it right, lol.
On that note, I’ve also noticed the climate you live in affects your metabolism. I’m living in a warmer area and right now I maintain at around 107 lbs, whereas before it was hard to stay below 115. I also do a lot more walking now, so that helps.
You would probably think, “Umm…wat?” if you saw a list of what I’ve been eating/drinking lately and at what times.
It’s truly unusual.
I eat at 3:00 AM and drink water like a fish for the next hour.
Then I eat nothing until 11:00 AM (which means that I don’t eat for 8 hours)
Then I eat again at 2:45 PM
Skinny Gurl probably eats that way because if she starts eating, she feels even hungrier or it’s hard to stop.
Therefor it’s easier for her to wait until the end of the day to eat so that she won’t feel hungry for the entire day.
That’s just my theory.
I don’t know.
Tryed yesterday! But for a vegeterian is more difficult cause all the baby foods are with meat. BTW it’s a bit disgusting but i like it! Maybe the excitement of the start. Today i go on, normal breakfast and lunch and dinner with baby food. And surprisingly it fills you up!!
That’s exactly what I do. I save my calories for the end of the day because it’s so much easier to not eat in the mornings/afternoons. If I do eat in the morning, I’m hungry the rest of the day then I’m TRULY starving. Not only do I have a lot more energy when I don’t eat but I feel better working out on an empty stomach. First of all I just want to say, congrats SkinnyGurl on another fabulous day, your intake is impressive and really motivating me! I’m happy to see how much soda you drink, I drink heaps and sometimes I feel guilty about it because people tell me its full of chemicals! (but then again I don’t eat shit food with chemicals so I don’t think its that bad…!)
Secondly I just want to thank CC for sharing that link, I found it SO interesting. The days when I fast during the day are when I feel the best, I think this guy is really onto something!
Once again I leave this site feeling freshly motivated and having learnt something!

yeah that article was cool! and I tried it, like one day after not eating all day, I came home from school to be 118 lbs. I was bummed, but then after a dinner of chicken and rice I was 113 lbs!! I was so excited!! I just have to keep doing that haha… but yeah it works really well (:
So do I, my main meal is at dinner time. Eating early in the day makes you wonder when ur next meal is.
Exercising on an empty stomach is such a sweet feeling, you dont feel hungry at all, plus you feel skinnier
I agree with the soda thing. When I stopped drinking soda, drinking water became so boring and such a task. Yes I drink my liquids, but soda helps during the mid afternoons when those pangs just refuse to go away. Green tea helps too, but sometimes having a hot drink makes you want hot food, especially as its colder now.
Whatever works I say.
Also, I’m starting a habit of fasting for 36hours every week. Started fasting midnight sunday and am going to break it tonight (tuesday dinner). A little over 36 hours, but…
I feel absolutely great though. Dinner will be protein & veg, grilled tuna steak and steamed asparagus. Yum.

Hey! So I started the Baby Food diet on Sunday and today is my second day. I was originally planning to do it for two days. But just in case I bought enough food for the entire week. So is it completely crazy that I want to do the diet for 8 days total?? I feel like i can absolutely do it!

As long as you feel strong whilst on it and know when to stop. 8 days is a long time, especially as its a long time. You don’t want your efforts to nd in a binge. Remember that dieting is not the end of life. Whatever weight is rapidly lost, is rapidly gained. Even models have off seasons.
Better to just have a reduced calorie way of eating that doesn’t feel like a chore. Tasking diets only lead to over-eating in the end.

I agree! I find it so much easier to not eat during the day if I eat my main meal at night and not much in the mornings. I always wonder though, do you think that doing it this way slows down your metabolism?? I’ve always been told that eating something in the mornings is the best way to kickstart your metabolism for the rest of the day but I don’t know lol if I eat breakfast it always makes me so hungry! I’m curious to know what you girls think
does it matter what baby food we eat? or does it have to be what you put down?
I plan to start the baby food diet on monday. How much exercise do you have to do each day for it to take effect?

Got directed to this site through reddit. I’m not going to tell you guys that undereating to this drastic degree is wrong – I did it when I was your age (I’m 49 now). But I have to say, the number of you who wait until dinner to eat are making a big mistake in terms of long-term weight maintenance. This will do a huge whammy on your metabolism when you get to be about 35 or so. If you absolutely must live on such draconian diets, I’d suggest you start spacing very small amounts of food throughout the day, especially within an hour or so of working out. This will keep your metabolism on a more even keel in the long run.
